Job summary

Edstate Learning Pvt. Ltd. in Mumbai seeks an HR - People & Culture Manager who designs engaging workplace experiences and drives culture; partner with leadership to create a thriving, compliant people function.

You will own onboarding, talent pipelines, HRIS records, payroll inputs, and performance processes, while building a brand employees enjoy and lifelong relationships with alumni.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years HR Generalist experience with culture-building background.
• Strong EQ, approachable personality, focus on wellbeing.
• Exceptional storytelling and cross-functional communication.
• Solid understanding of Indian employment law and POSH guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Culture & Engagement: plan wellness initiatives and reduce friction across teams.
• Hiring & Onboarding: support end-to-end recruitment and welcoming onboarding.
• HR Operations & Compliance: maintain HRIS data, attendance and leave for payroll; POSH compliance.
• Performance & Exits: run feedback cycles, set goals, and manage offboarding.

What you'll do:

1. Culture & Engagement

• Own the Vibe: Plan fresh engagement and wellness initiatives that keep the team's energy high.
• The Team Bridge: Act as a reliable anchor across teamsspot workspace friction early and solve it fast.
• Employer Branding: Partner with our internal creative team to showcase EdStates unique culture on LinkedIn and social media.

2. Hiring & Onboarding

• Talent Sourcing: Support end-to-end hiring pipelines, including active sourcing, screening, and seamless interview coordination.
• Premium Day One: Turn introductory anxiety into excitement with a smooth, welcoming onboarding experience.

3. HR Operations & Compliance

• The Blueprint: Maintain pristine employee records in our HRIS and manage attendance/leave data for monthly payroll inputs.
• Guardrails: Keep internal policies clear, fair, and perfectly aligned with Indian labor guidelines (including strong POSH framework awareness).

4. Performance & Exits

• Growth Cycles: Run continuous feedback loops, agile goal-setting check-ins, and performance tracking frameworks.
• Smooth Offboarding: Manage exit formalities end-to-end, extract key insights from exit interviews, and maintain lifelong relationships with our alumni.

What Were Looking For:

• The Experience: You have 2 to 3 years of solid HR Generalist experience, with a proven track record of moving beyond basic administration into culture building.
• The Mindset: High emotional intelligence (EQ), an approachable personality, and a genuine passion for employee wellbeing.
• The Communicator: Exceptional storytelling and cross-functional communication skills; you can effortlessly navigate conversations from interns to the CEO.
• The Thinker: Sharp problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills, backed by a strong understand of employment compliance.
