About the Role
Our client is seeking a Senior Manager - HR Business Partner (India) to lead the people strategy for the India GCC during a critical phase of growth and expansion. This role will serve as a trusted advisor to GCC leadership, partnering closely with India, US, and global stakeholders to drive organization effectiveness, workforce planning, leadership development, employee engagement, and HR governance.
The role requires a strategic HR leader who can balance business partnership, operational excellence, and organizational transformation within a fast-growing global environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Partnership & Leadership Advisory
- Serve as the lead HR Business Partner to India GCC leadership and senior business stakeholders.
- Drive the people strategy aligned with business objectives, growth plans, and organizational priorities.
- Partner with US and global leaders on workforce planning, talent strategy, succession planning, and organizational design.
- Provide data-driven workforce insights and recommendations to support business decisions.
- Act as a strategic advisor on organizational effectiveness, change management, and culture initiatives.
- Support GCC expansion efforts, including new team setup, capability building, and leadership readiness.
Talent Management & Workforce Planning
- Lead workforce planning initiatives aligned with business growth and headcount forecasts.
- Drive performance management, goal-setting processes, leadership coaching, and talent reviews.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to deliver hiring plans for critical and leadership roles.
- Develop succession strategies and leadership development programs to strengthen talent pipelines.
- Champion learning and career development initiatives to build future-ready capabilities.
Employee Experience, Culture & Engagement
- Own employee engagement strategy and foster a high-performance, inclusive culture.
- Lead retention initiatives and proactively identify and mitigate attrition risks.
- Act as a senior escalation point for employee relations matters and complex workplace issues.
- Coach leaders and managers on employee performance, team effectiveness, and difficult conversations.
- Drive culture integration initiatives across India, US, and global teams.
HR Governance, Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with Indian labor laws and statutory requirements, including POSH, PF, Gratuity, Shops & Establishments, and related regulations.
- Partner with Legal, Payroll, and Global HR teams on policy governance and risk mitigation.
- Oversee audits, statutory reporting, compliance reviews, and employee policy administration.
- Lead POSH governance and support Internal Committee activities where applicable.
Global Collaboration & Change Leadership
- Partner with Global HR, Centers of Excellence (COEs), and Shared Services teams to implement enterprise-wide HR programs.
- Localize global HR policies, processes, and programs while maintaining governance standards.
- Lead change management initiatives associated with GCC growth and global transformation efforts.
- Build strong partnerships across multiple geographies and operate effectively across time zones.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field; MBA/PGDM in HR preferred.
- 10-15+ years of progressive HR experience, including significant HR Business Partnering experience.
- Proven experience supporting 300+ employees in high-growth, multinational, GCC, shared services, or professional services environments.
- Strong experience partnering with senior leaders and executive stakeholders.
- Demonstrated expertise in workforce planning, organizational design, talent management, employee relations, and HR strategy.
- Deep understanding of Indian labor laws, HR compliance, and governance requirements.
- Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
- Experience supporting or building Global Capability Centers (GCCs).
- Exposure to scaling India operations from setup through expansion phases.
- Experience working with US-based professional services, consulting, or multinational organizations.
- Strong track record of leading organizational transformation and change management initiatives.
- Experience collaborating with global HR Centers of Excellence and shared services teams.
