Job summary

Deutsche Bahn’s DB Engineering & Consulting in Bengaluru is seeking a senior HSE leader to develop and implement occupational safety programs, integrating international best practices with Indian standards. You will drive audits, risk assessments, trainings, and policy development for metro rail projects.

The role requires 15+ years in HSE, strong regulatory knowledge, NEBOSH/OSHA certification, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with additional qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 15+ years of experience in an HSE role, preferably in a corporate setting.
• Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and standards, both international and Indian.
• Certification in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) is preferred.

• Conduct safety audits, inspections, risk assessments; implement corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement occupational safety programs to minimize workplace hazards and promote a safety-first culture.Integrate international HSE best practices with Indian safety standards and regulations.
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments; implement corrective and preventive actions.Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols across all project and site activities.
• Organize HSE training, awareness programs, and safety campaigns for employees.Establish and implement SHE policies, procedures, and performance standards for Metro Rail projects.
• Coordinate with project teams for effective execution of safety measures at construction sites.Monitor, review, and continuously improve SHE management systems and programs.Track, analyze, and report HSE performance metrics and key indicators.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and national SHE laws and regulations. Liaise with regulatory authorities during inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
• Keep projects aligned with evolving legal requirements and industry best practices. Develop, implement, and maintain HSE management systems in line with ISO 45001 standards.
• Lead ISO 45001 certification and recertification processes, including documentation, training, and audits. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to achieve global safety and operational excellence standards.
