Job summary

Mantras2success Consultants in Sanand, Gujarat seeks an experienced HSE Engineer to drive health, safety and environmental compliance at the plant. You will implement and monitor HSE systems, ensure adherence to GPCB, DISH and PESO, and promote ESG practices across operations.

The role requires a BE in Mechanical or Electrical or a postgraduate with safety qualifications, and 3–5 years of EHS experience in manufacturing.

Qualifications

• BE in Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
• Postgraduate in Environmental Science with safety diplomas.
• Experience in Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) and ESG compliance.
• Manufacturing industry experience is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain HSE management systems and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with GPCB, DISH, PESO and other legal requirements.
• Maintain statutory records such as CTE, CCA, Hazardous Waste Returns, Environmental Statements.
• Prepare and manage compliance calendars for regulatory submissions.
• Monitor ZLD systems (ETP/STP) and oversee waste management.
• Drive ESG initiatives and collaborate with corporate teams for alignment.
• Conduct internal HSE audits, inspections and safety meetings.
• Perform JSA, risk assessments, and lead RCA for incidents.
• Lead HSE training programs and promote safety culture.
• Manage site emergency plans and conduct mock drills.
• Oversee fire safety systems and OHC coordination.
• Implement work permit systems and contractor safety.
• Ensure safety in plant expansions and project execution.
• Prepare and manage HSE budgets.

Job Title: HSE Engineer

Location - Sanand

5 Days a week

Transportation and canteen facility available

Qualification Requirements:

• BE in Mechanical / Electrical OR
• Post Graduate in Environmental Science with:
  • Post Diploma in Industrial Safety OR
  • Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety from a recognised State Regional Labour Institute

Experience Requirements:

• 35 years of relevant experience in Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) and ESG compliance
• Prior experience in the manufacturing industry is mandatory

Role Objective:

To ensure effective implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of HSE systems, regulatory compliance, and ESG practices across the plant.

Key Responsibilities:

HSE Systems & Compliance

• Develop and maintain HSE management systems including policies, procedures, and documentation
• Ensure compliance with all applicable legal and corporate HSE requirements (GPCB, DISH, PESO, etc.)
• Maintain statutory records such as CTE, CCA, Hazardous Waste Returns, Environmental Statements, etc.
• Prepare and manage compliance calendars for regulatory submissions

Environmental Management

• Monitor Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems, including ETP/STP operations
• Oversee waste management: hazardous, biomedical, e-waste, and plastic waste disposal
• Ensure adherence to environmental norms and audit requirements

ESG & Corporate Alignment

• Drive ESG initiatives and ensure compliance
• Collaborate with corporate teams for HSE alignment and continuous improvement

Audits & Risk Management

• Conduct internal HSE audits, inspections, and safety committee meetings
• Perform Job Safety Analysis (JSA), risk assessments, and workplace safety evaluations
• Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for incidents, accidents, and near misses

Training & Awareness

• Conduct HSE training programs for employees and contractors
• Promote a strong safety culture across the organisation

Emergency Preparedness

• Manage site emergency plans and conduct mock drills
• Oversee fire safety systems including extinguishers, hydrants, and alarms

Health & Safety Operations

• Maintain Occupational Health Centre (OHC) in coordination with Factory Medical Officer
• Implement and manage work permit systems, including contractor safety

Project Safety

• Ensure safety compliance in plant expansions and project execution

Budgeting & Miscellaneous

• Prepare and manage HSE budgets
• Handle additional responsibilities as assigned
