Job summary

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. is seeking an experienced EHS Leader to drive the development and implementation of EHS systems across Greenfield projects and post-SOP operations.

You will lead risk management, compliance and safety audits to sustain a safe workplace and support business continuity. The role requires 10–15 years of experience in Industrial Safety, EHS management or manufacturing environments, with Greenfield project exposure preferred.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of work experience in EHS or manufacturing environments.
• Experience in industrial safety, EHS management, or manufacturing operations.
• Greenfield project experience is preferred and advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of EHS systems and risk management for Greenfield projects.
• Drive safety planning for civil construction, utilities, equipment erection, commissioning and contractor activities.
• Conduct risk assessments, HIRA, HAZOP studies and safety audits.
• Ensure compliance with Factory Act, state safety and environmental regulations.
• Coordinate with regulatory authorities (DISH, MPCB, Fire Dept) for approvals and inspections.
• Establish contractor safety management and enforce safety standards across activities.
• Drive safety awareness programs, emergency response readiness and behavioral safety.
• Monitor safety KPIs, incident reports, near misses and CAPA closures.
• Lead internal and external audits and implement corrective actions.
• Support facility expansion and future growth from an EHS perspective.

Job description

Lead implementation of EHS systems, statutory compliance and safety management practices during Greenfield project execution and post-SOP operations to create and sustain a safe workplace, achieve regulatory compliance and support business continuity.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Lead development and implementation of EHS systems, safety procedures and risk management frameworks during Greenfield project execution.
• Drive safety planning for civil construction, utility installation, equipment erection, commissioning and contractor activities across the project site.
• Conduct risk assessments, HIRA, HAZOP studies and safety audits for project and operational activities.
• Ensure compliance with Factory Act, State Safety Regulations, Environment Regulations and applicable statutory requirements.
• Coordinate with DISH, MPCB, Fire Department and other regulatory authorities for statutory approvals, inspections and compliance requirements.
• Establish contractor safety management systems and ensure adherence to safety standards across all project activities.
• Drive safety awareness programs, employee training, emergency response preparedness and behavioral safety initiatives.
• Monitor safety KPIs, incident reports, near misses, unsafe conditions and corrective action closure.
• Lead internal and external audits and ensure implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Support facility expansion, utility enhancement and future business growth projects from an EHS perspective.

Experience

10-15 Years of work experience

Experience in Industrial Safety, EHS Management or Manufacturing Environment.

Greenfield Project experience shall be preferred and will be an added advantage.

Automotive OEM, Auto Component Manufacturing, Industrial Manufacturing, Infrastructure & EPC Projects

Qualifications

B.E. - Mechanical / Chemical / Environmental Engineering
