Thermax Limited, Pune, seeks an experienced HSE professional with 10–15 years post-qualification experience to drive safety on large-scale EPC projects. The role emphasizes implementing ISO 45001:2018 across mechanical and civil sites, conducting audits, investigations, and continuous improvement of HSE systems.

You will lead training, risk assessments, and incident investigations while coordinating with project teams to ensure compliance and a strong safety culture on site.

Formación

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (excluding Information Technology, Electronics and Computer Engineering).
• Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS) or equivalent recognized qualification.
• Awareness and working knowledge of ISO 45001:2018 requirements.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate with project and site teams to implement HSE policies, procedures and standards.
• Monitor compliance with legal requirements and ensure timely obligations.
• Plan and conduct HSE audits, inspections, and workplace risk assessments.
• Analyze audit findings and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Support hazard identification and risk assessment for high-risk activities.
• Participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses.
• Conduct HSE induction, toolbox talks and safety training for workers and contractors.
• Engage employees and contractors to promote a proactive safety culture.
• Work with project teams to develop practical HSE solutions without compromising safety.

Experience

• Minimum 10–15 years of post-qualification experience in HSEmanagement at mechanical and/or civil project sites.
• Experience in large-scale EPC projects, preferably with reputedorganizations such as L&T or Tata Projects.
• Practical experience in construction safety, site audits, incidentinvestigations, legal compliance, and implementation of HSE managementsystems.

5. Roles andResponsibilities

• HSE Implementation: Coordinatewith project and site teams to implement HSE policies, procedures,standards, and industry best practices.
• Legal Compliance: Monitorcompliance with applicable statutory and regulatory requirements andensure timely completion of legal obligations.
• Site Audits and Inspections: Plan and conduct HSE audits, inspections, and workplace assessmentsto identify hazards, unsafe practices, and deviations from establishedstandards.
• Corrective and Preventive Actions: Analyze audit findings, recommend effective corrective andpreventive measures, and monitor their timely implementation andeffectiveness.
• Hazard Identification and Risk Management: Support site teams in hazard identification, riskassessment, and implementation of appropriate control measures forhigh-risk activities.
• Incident Investigation: Participatein incident and near-miss investigations, identify immediate and systemicroot causes, recommend effective corrective actions, and verify theirimplementation to prevent recurrence.
• Training and Awareness: Conduct HSEinduction, toolbox talks, safety training, awareness campaigns, and masscommunication sessions to strengthen safety knowledge and promote safebehavior.
• Employee Engagement: Motivateemployees, contractors, and supervisors to actively participate in HSEinitiatives and promote a proactive safety culture.
• Site Team Support: Workclosely with project managers, construction teams, contractors, andsupervisors to develop and implement practical HSE solutions withoutcompromising safety standards.
• HSE Performance Monitoring: Monitorsite HSE performance, analyze trends, maintain relevant records andreports, and support the implementation of improvement initiatives.
• Management Reporting and Escalation: Promptly communicate critical HSE risks, seriousdeviations, incidents, and unresolved issues to site management and HeadOffice, ensuring timely intervention.
• Continuous Improvement: Identifyopportunities to improve site safety practices, share lessons learned, andfacilitate the adoption of proven HSE practices across project sites.
• Hazard Identification and Risk Control: Ability to identify critical hazards, assessassociated risks, and initiate prompt and effective control measures toprevent incidents.
• Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis: Ability to conduct fact-based investigations,identify underlying and systemic causes, and recommend sustainablecorrective and preventive actions.
• Decision-Making and Problem-Solving: Ability to make sound, timely, and risk-baseddecisions and implement practical solutions in challenging projectenvironments.
• Leadership and Influencing Skills: Ability to engage and influence project teams, contractors,supervisors, and workers to achieve the required HSE standards.
• Risk Escalation and Management Communication: Ability to identify critical safety concerns,communicate them effectively to site leadership and Head Office, and drivetimely resolution.
• Implementation and Follow-Up: Ability to ensure that recommended actions are implemented, theireffectiveness is verified, and recurrence of similar incidents isprevented.
