Motherson Technology Services Limited in Bengaluru seeks an UG NX Casting Design Engineer to design and develop casting components with hands-on Siemens UG NX expertise. You will apply casting principles, manufacturability, and engineering drawing standards to create robust 3D models and 2D drawings.

The role requires strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerances, and DFM, with exposure to drafting lines, wall thickness, and casting defects.

Formación

• Hands-on experience in Siemens UG NX for casting design.
• Experience in casting component design and manufacturing processes.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up.
• Proficient in 3D modelling and 2D drawings creation.
• Familiarity with DFM and engineering drawing standards.

Responsabilidades

• Design and develop cast components using UG NX.
• Create and modify 3D models, 2D drawings, and manufacturing drawings.
• Work on automotive/industrial castings such as engine and powertrain components.
• Apply GD&T, tolerances, and engineering standards.
• Ensure designs are suitable for casting and manufacturing processes.
• Understand draft angles, parting lines, machining allowances, etc.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, tooling, quality, and other teams.
• Support design reviews, engineering changes, and issue resolution.

Job Summary

We are looking for a UG NX Casting Design Engineer with strong experience in designing and developing casting components. The candidate should have hands-on expertise in Siemens UG NX and a good understanding of casting processes, design for manufacturability, and engineering drawing standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop cast components using UG NX.
• Create and modify 3D models, 2D drawings, and manufacturing drawings.
• Work on casting components such as engine, powertrain, automotive, or industrial castings.
• Apply GD&T, dimensional tolerances, and engineering standards.
• Ensure designs are suitable for casting and manufacturing processes.
• Understand draft angles, parting lines, machining allowances, fillets, wall thickness, and casting defects.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, tooling, quality, and other engineering teams.
• Perform design modifications based on manufacturing and customer requirements.
• Support design reviews, engineering changes, and issue resolution.
• Ensure designs meet quality, manufacturability, and project requirements.

Mandatory Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in Siemens UG NX / NX.
• Experience in Casting Component Design.
• Good knowledge of casting design principles and manufacturing processes.
• Experience in 3D modelling and 2D drawing creation.
• Strong understanding of GD&T and tolerance stack-up.
• Knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacturing).
• Understanding of draft, parting line, machining allowance, wall thickness, fillet/radius, etc.
• Ability to interpret and work with engineering drawings and specifications.

Good to Have

• Experience in automotive casting components.
• Knowledge of Aluminium / Iron casting processes.
• Exposure to die casting, gravity die casting, sand casting, or investment casting.
• Knowledge of Teamcenter / PLM.
• Experience working with OEM/customer requirements.
