Job summary

Camel Valley Resort & Spa in Igatpuri, Maharashtra, seeks an hands-on Housekeeping Manager to oversee the complete department across 75 guest rooms and public areas, ensuring top cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation standards during peak occupancy, weddings, and corporate events.

You will coordinate with Front Office for arrivals and room status, plan housekeeping for destination weddings, manage inventory and costs within budget, recruit and train staff, and drive safety and SOP adherence

Qualifications

• Graduate or Diploma in Hotel/ Hospitality Management.
• Minimum 4–7 years in Housekeeping; 12 years in management preferred.
• Experience with weddings, banquets, and high-volume guest movements preferred.

Job description

Role & Responsibilities

• Manage the complete Housekeeping department, ensuring cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation standards across all 75 guest rooms and suites.
• Supervise housekeeping operations in guest rooms, bathrooms, corridors, reception, restaurants, banquet halls, swimming pool areas, spa, lawns, and other public areas.
• Ensure timely room cleaning, room readiness, deep cleaning, and room inspections, especially during high occupancy and wedding events.
• Coordinate with the Front Office team for arrivals, departures, room status updates, early check-ins, and urgent room requirements.
• Plan and execute housekeeping arrangements for destination weddings, corporate events, staycations, and student groups.
• Monitor linen, towels, uniforms, guest amenities, cleaning materials, and housekeeping equipment.
• Maintain inventory records, control consumption, minimise wastage, and manage departmental costs within the approved budget.
• Supervise laundry operations, linen movement, stain removal, and proper storage of clean and soiled linen.
• Ensure high standards of hygiene, pest control, sanitation, and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
• Conduct regular inspections and implement preventive measures to maintain consistent housekeeping standards.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise housekeeping staff, room attendants, public area cleaners, and other team members.
• Handle guest requests and housekeeping-related complaints promptly and professionally.
• Coordinate with Maintenance for room defects, plumbing issues, electrical problems, and repairs.
• Ensure lost-and-found items are recorded, secured, and handled according to resort policy.
• Implement housekeeping SOPs, safety procedures, grooming standards, and service quality checks.
• Prepare daily room status reports, staff attendance records, inventory reports, and departmental performance updates for management.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Graduate or Diploma holder in Hotel Management or Hospitality Management.
• Minimum 4-7 years of experience in Housekeeping, preferably with 12 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Experience in resorts or hotels handling weddings, banquets, corporate groups, and high-volume guest movements will be preferred.
• Strong knowledge of room cleaning standards, public area maintenance, laundry, linen management, inventory control, and hygiene procedures.
• Good leadership, staff management, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage manpower efficiently during peak occupancy and large wedding functions.
• Knowledge of housekeeping SOPs, chemical handling, safety practices, and cost control.
• Hands-on, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining excellent cleanliness standards.
