Job summary

Novotel Hotels in Chennai is seeking a Housekeeping Floor Supervisor to lead daily housekeeping operations on the floor, ensuring rooms and corridors meet high cleanliness and safety standards. This role requires strong English communication and a minimum of 2 years in a similar position.

The candidate will supervise staff, coordinate with the Executive Housekeeper, and uphold fire and life safety procedures. On-site duties and professional appearance are essential.

Qualifications

• Primary school education is required.
• Good oral proficiency in English.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Ability to speak other languages and basic understanding of local languages is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily briefings with staff on the floor level and supervise all tasks of the team.
• Ensure cleanliness of guest rooms, balconies, corridors, linen rooms and housekeeping pantries according to standards.
• Supervise public areas and replenish guest supplies; promptly attend to guest requests.
• Attend to reports on damage or malfunction in hotel rooms; maintain equipment cleanliness.
• Maintain floor reports and conduct regular room checklists; record room status accurately.
• Assist Executive Housekeeper in assessing attendance and performance.
• Be versed in fire and life safety procedures; attend briefings, meetings and trainings.
• Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene; perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

Operation

• Conduct daily briefings with staff at floor level. Manage and supervise all tasks of his/her team
• Ensure cleanliness of guest rooms, guest room balconies, guest corridors, linen rooms and housekeeping pantries according to standards and procedures set
• Supervise public areas
• Replenish guest supplies and ensure that guests requests are promptly attended to
• Attend to reports on damage or malfunction in hotel rooms
• Maintain equipment in proper state of cleanliness
• Maintain a section floor report
• Conduct regular room checklists
• Report unusual behavior/activities on floors to Executive Housekeeper
• Record room status in allocated section accurately
• Assist Executive Housekeeper in assessing team members’ attendance and performance
  
  

Other Responsibilities

• Be well versed in hotel fire & life safety/emergency procedures
• Attend all briefings, meetings and trainings as assigned by management
• Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times
• Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the assigned by the Management
