Who should apply

We are not looking for general translators, freelancers, or content writers. We are looking for the top 1% of music academics and practitioners deeply grounded in Indian music traditions.

You should meet most or all of the following:

• Native fluency in Hindi (reading and writing)
• Strong command of English (for prompt interpretation and evaluation)
• Deep academic, professional, or research expertise in Indian music traditions and contemporary practices, such as:
• Carnatic classical music (kriti traditions, raga–tala systems, compositional forms)
• Indian folk and regional music traditions
• Devotional and spiritual music traditions (bhajans, qawwali, kirtan, sufi, etc.)
• Musicology, aesthetics, and theory (raga, tala, rasa, śāstra traditions)
• Composition, improvisation, and performance practice
• History of music in the Indian subcontinent
• Contemporary Indian music, fusion, and experimental practices
• Archiving, documentation, and preservation of musical traditions
• Music pedagogy and guru–shishya traditions
• PhD, MPhil, or Master’s degree preferred, or extensive credible experience in the field will also be considered.
• Passion for preserving, interpreting, and evolving Indian musical knowledge systems
• Comfortable using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.

Your Role

• Create advanced prompts in Hindithat challenge AI models
• Evaluate AI outputs for factual accuracy, theoretical depth, aesthetic nuance, and cultural authenticity
• Identify blind spots and weaknesses in current AI understanding of Indian music traditions
• Collaborate with an international expert network shaping how AI understands Indian music and aesthetics
