Job summary

Avenir International Engineers & Consultants is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Chennai to lead electrical deliverables for Oil & Gas/EPC projects. You will review calculations, layouts and specifications, and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure timely delivery.

Ideal candidates have 9-14 years of electrical engineering experience, strong design and vendor interaction skills, and a track record in rigorous technical reviews.

Qualifications

• 9-14 years of experience in electrical engineering for Oil & Gas/EPC projects.
• Proven ability to develop and review electrical deliverables.
• Experience with design calculations, SLDs, load and short-circuit studies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review electrical deliverables for Oil & Gas/EPC projects.
• Prepare and review electrical design calculations and technical documents.
• Prepare and review Single Line Diagrams, load schedules, equipment specifications and datasheets.
• Perform electrical load calculations, cable sizing, voltage-drop calculations and short-circuit calculations.
• Prepare and review cable schedules, routing and termination details.
• Develop electrical layouts, lighting layouts, earthing and lightning protection layouts.
• Prepare and review motor and electrical equipment specifications.
• Review vendor drawings and engineering submissions.
• Coordinate with instrumentation, mechanical, process, civil and piping teams.
• Participate in technical discussions with clients, vendors and project teams.
• Support procurement through technical bid evaluation and vendor document review.
• Provide guidance to junior engineers and designers.
• Ensure timely completion of engineering deliverables as per project schedules.
