Job summary

Savista in Chennai invites an experienced Medical Coding leader to oversee coding operations, mentor teams, and ensure quality, productivity, and compliance.

You will manage audits, client communications, and operations reporting, while supporting training, recruitment, and process improvements. A strong background in E/M Profee and facility coding plus CPC/CCS/CIC certification is required.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of medical coding experience.
• 2–3 years of Team Lead experience managing 10 to 15+ coders.
• CPC/CCS/CIC certification (AAPC/AHIMA) mandatory.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and HIPAA guidelines.
• Experience with 3M HDM, Cerner, Athena, or ECW preferred.

• Ensure productivity, quality, and TAT targets are achieved.
• Lead and mentor coding teams across specialties.
• Conduct audits and ensure compliance with ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and HIPAA guidelines.
• Handle client communications, escalations, and operational reporting.

Requirements:

• Life Science graduate (Biochemistry, Microbiology, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, Nursing preferred).
• 8-10 years of medical coding experience.
• 2-3 years of Team Lead experience managing 10 to 15+ coders.
• Strong experience in E&M Profee and Facility Coding; denials exposure preferred.
• CPC/CCS/CIC certification (AAPC/AHIMA) mandatory.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and HIPAA guidelines.
• Experience with 3M HDM, Cerner, Athena, or ECW preferred.
• Strong anatomy and physiology knowledge.
• Willingness to work rotational shifts and weekend rosters.

Preferred:

• Experience in charge entry and claim entry.
