Job Description
We are seeking an experienced HIL Test Engineer with expertise in plant model development for powertrain and vehicle dynamics systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge in using GT-Power for engine modelling and Motorcycle Maker (or equivalent tools) for motorcycle dynamics. This role will involve developing, validating, and optimizing real‑time plant models for HIL testing setups to ensure the accuracy and performance of vehicle control systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed plant models of internal combustion engines using GT-Power for HIL testing purposes.
- Model and simulate motorcycle dynamics, including suspension, braking, and steering systems, using Motorcycle Maker.
- Integrate and validate plant models in a HIL environment, working closely with control and software engineers to ensure model accuracy and functionality.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to interpret system requirements, design test cases, and perform model‑based verification.
- Perform parameter identification, system optimisation, and calibration for engine and vehicle dynamics models.
- Debug and troubleshoot real‑time simulations, ensuring stability and performance during HIL tests.
- Provide insights into model improvements and develop scripts to automate test procedures where necessary.
- Document modelling processes, assumptions, validation results, and test findings in a clear and organised manner.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in HIL technology, engine modelling, and motorcycle dynamics simulation tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field such as mechanical, electrical or automobiles.
- 7+ years of hands‑on experience with GT-Power for engine modelling and Motorcycle Maker (or equivalent tools) for vehicle dynamics simulation.
- Understanding of electric vehicle powertrains and IC engine powertrain modelling.
- Familiarity with sensor and actuator modelling.
- Experience with Model‑Based Design (MBD) workflows.
- Detail‑oriented with strong analytical skills.
