Job summary

PACCAR India is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Pune team. You will lead model-based systems engineering activities for EV and hybrid driveline design, performance modelling, and vehicle configuration decisions to support heavy-duty vehicle programs.

You will provide technical direction to implementation teams, define modelling approaches, ensure quality deliverables, and collaborate across engineering, testing, sales, and product groups to deliver customer-focused solutions.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degrees in automotive engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field

Responsibilities

• Lead EV and hybrid driveline design and performance modeling for heavy-duty vehicles.
• Own system-level driveline design decisions and provide technical direction for implementation activities.
• Provide technical leadership to engineers through design reviews, solution guidance, and validation of deliverables.
• Define modelling approaches, engineering methodologies, and standards to ensure quality across vehicle configuration solutions.
• Perform vehicle performance analysis and simulations to evaluate design feasibility and customer requirements.
• Define and maintain calculation logic supporting vehicle configuration and performance assessments.
• Influence design and product decisions through analysis and stakeholder collaboration.
• Drive continuous improvement in tools, processes, and engineering practices.

Job Function / Responsibilities:

Lead EV and hybrid driveline design and performance modeling for heavy-duty vehicles.

• Own system-level driveline design decisions and provide technical direction for implementation activities across vehicle configuration and performance modelling solutions.
• Provide technical leadership to implementation engineers through design reviews, solution guidance, and validation of engineering deliverables.
• Define modelling approaches, engineering methodologies, and technical standards to ensure consistency and quality across vehicle configuration solutions.
• Perform vehicle performance analysis and simulations to evaluate design feasibility, compliance, customer requirements, and support engineering decision-making.
• Define and maintain calculation logic supporting vehicle configuration and performance assessments.
• Influence design and product decisions through analysis, recommendations, and stakeholder collaboration.
• Work closely with Engineering, Testing, Quality, Sales, and Product teams to drive successful outcomes.
• Lead validation activities and ensure solutions meet quality and functional expectations.
• Review vehicle performance data and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Drive continuous improvement in tools, processes, and engineering practices.
• Maintain technical documentation and design records.
• Support Sales and Product teams by translating technical requirements into customer-focused vehicle solutions.

Qualification:

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degrees in automotive engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field
