Headmistress Secondary & Senior Secondary School (Grades IX-XII)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, academically strong and result-oriented Headmistress to lead the Secondary and Senior Secondary Wing (Grades IXXII).

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic academic and administrative leadership to the Secondary and Senior Secondary Wing.
• Drive a strong culture of academic excellence, discipline, accountability and high performance.
• Ensure effective implementation of the CBSE curriculum, assessment practices and NEP 2020 recommendations.
• Monitor and improve CBSE Class X and Class XII Board Examination results through systematic academic planning and intervention.
• Analyse student performance data and develop result-improvement strategies for different learner groups.
• Set academic targets and closely monitor progress towards Board Examination outcomes.
• Identify academically weak students and ensure timely remedial, support and enrichment programmes.
• Guide teachers in lesson planning, pedagogy, assessment, revision strategies and board-oriented preparation.
• Conduct regular classroom observations, academic audits and performance reviews.
• Mentor and motivate teachers to achieve consistently high learning outcomes.
• Ensure effective preparation for CBSE Board Examinations, including pre-board assessments, revision schedules and performance analysis.
• Monitor subject-wise and student-wise performance and take corrective measures wherever required.
• Promote conceptual learning, critical thinking, competency-based education and experiential learning in accordance with NEP 2020.
• Ensure effective implementation of CBSE guidelines related to academics, examinations and internal assessment.
• Lead teacher development programmes, workshops and academic capacity-building initiatives.
• Maintain high standards of student discipline, attendance, safety, well-being and academic engagement.
• Build strong communication and collaboration among teachers, students and parents.
• Work closely with the Principal and School Leadership Team in achieving institutional academic goals.
• Represent the school professionally before parents and other stakeholders.

Experience

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in reputed schools.
• Strong CBSE exposure is essential.
• Demonstrated experience in handling Secondary and Senior Secondary classes (Grades IXXII).
• Proven experience in CBSE Board Examination preparation and result improvement.
• Candidates who have successfully led schools/sections to excellent Class X & XII Board Results will be strongly preferred.
• Prior experience as Headmistress, Vice Principal, Academic Head, Senior Coordinator or equivalent leadership position will be an advantage.
