India Automotives is seeking an experienced Head Supply Chain & Operations to lead the end-to-end supply chain across demand planning, inventory management, warehouse operations, store replenishment and logistics.

The role requires a strong people leader with hands-on expertise in inventory planning and multi-location distribution, capable of driving visibility, discipline and efficiency across the store network.

Qualifications

  • 12–18+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Distribution, Inventory and Logistics.
  • Strong experience in inventory management and multi-location distribution is mandatory.
  • Experience managing stores/branches/retail distribution networks will be highly preferred.
  • Should have handled significant SKU complexity and high-volume inventory environments.
  • Strong understanding of demand planning, replenishment, inventory ageing, stock transfers and warehouse operations.
  • Experience in automotive aftermarket, auto components, spare parts, industrial distribution, FMCG or other high-SKU distribution businesses will be preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with the ability to work extensively with inventory data and MIS.
  • Experience in ERP-based supply chain operations; exposure to SAP / ERP / WMS / inventory planning systems will be advantageous.
  • Proven ability to build and lead teams and drive process discipline.
  • Should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial business environment.

Responsibilities

  • 1. Demand Planning & Store Replenishment: Own the end-to-end demand planning and replenishment process across the store network.
  • 2. Inventory Management: Take overall ownership of inventory planning and optimization across warehouses and stores.
  • 3. Warehouse Management: Lead inbound, storage, picking, packing, dispatch, cycle counting and stock accuracy across locations.
  • 4. Logistics & Distribution: Lead transportation and distribution operations; optimize routes, freight costs and delivery timelines.
  • 5. Supply Chain Transformation: Build a data-driven, process-oriented supply chain with dashboards and MIS.
  • 6. Team Leadership: Build, mentor and lead a high-performing supply chain team across planning, warehouse, inventory and logistics.

About the Role

India Automotives is looking for an experienced Head Supply Chain & Operations to lead and strengthen the end-to-end supply chain function across Demand Planning, Inventory Management, Warehouse Operations, Store Replenishment and Logistics.

The role will be critical in improving product availability across the company's store network while simultaneously reducing excess, slow-moving and idle inventory. The ideal candidate should be a strong people leader with hands-on expertise in inventory planning and multi-location distribution, capable of bringing greater visibility, discipline and efficiency to the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities
1. Demand Planning & Store Replenishment
  • Own the end-to-end demand planning and replenishment process across the store network.
  • Develop robust forecasting mechanisms based on historical sales, seasonality, SKU movement, lead times and market demand.
  • Ensure the right products are available at the right store/location at the right time.
  • Establish appropriate min-max, safety stock, reorder point and service-level parameters.
  • Identify demand gaps and proactively coordinate replenishment from warehouses/stores.
  • Improve OTIF / fill rate and order fulfilment across the network.
2. Inventory Management
  • Take overall ownership of inventory planning and optimization across warehouses and stores.
  • Identify slow-moving, non-moving, excess and obsolete inventory and develop liquidation/redeployment plans.
  • Create mechanisms to identify inventory lying unused at one location and redeploy it to locations where demand exists.
  • Optimize inventory turns while maintaining required service levels.
  • Establish SKU-level inventory norms and ageing controls.
  • Drive reduction in stock-outs, excess inventory and working capital blockage.
  • Develop regular inventory ageing, availability, stock health and inventory-turn dashboards for management review.
3. Warehouse Management
  • Lead warehouse operations including inbound, storage, picking, packing, dispatch, cycle counting and stock accuracy.
  • Establish standardized warehouse processes and SOPs across locations.
  • Improve warehouse productivity, space utilization and manpower efficiency.
  • Ensure high levels of inventory accuracy and system-vs-physical stock reconciliation.
  • Implement appropriate ABC analysis, SKU classification and warehouse slotting practices.
  • Drive cycle-counting and periodic physical inventory controls.
4. Logistics & Distribution
  • Lead primary and secondary transportation and distribution operations.
  • Optimize routes, freight costs, delivery timelines and vehicle utilization.
  • Develop effective logistics partners and performance-monitoring mechanisms.
  • Improve delivery reliability from warehouses to stores and customers.
  • Establish logistics KPIs covering cost, TAT, OTIF, vehicle utilization and delivery performance.
  • Identify opportunities for consolidation and network optimization.
5. Supply Chain Transformation
  • Build a data-driven and process-oriented supply chain function.
  • Establish dashboards and MIS for demand, inventory, warehouse and logistics performance.
  • Identify gaps in existing ERP/system processes and drive improvements in supply chain visibility.
  • Develop SOPs, controls and review mechanisms across the complete supply chain.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to reduce working capital, logistics cost and inventory losses.
6. Team Leadership
  • Build, mentor and lead a high-performing supply chain team across planning, warehouse, inventory and logistics.
  • Define KRAs, KPIs and performance metrics for the team.
  • Develop a culture of accountability, data-based decision making and operational excellence.
  • Strengthen coordination between Stores, Sales, Procurement, Warehouse, Finance and Management.
  • Build scalable processes capable of supporting future business expansion.

Ideal Candidate Profile
