Qualifications

• Engineering graduate with Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical background.
• 20 years in QA & QC; at least 10 years in leadership in connector/electronic manufacturing.
• Hands-on IPC standards, reliability testing, and electronic packaging.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement QA/QC strategies to ensure world-class product performance.
• Align quality initiatives with ISO/AS standards (ISO9001, ISO14001, AS9100, IATF16949, NADCAP).

We have an urgent requirement for a Head - Quality Assurance (QA) position with one of the largest manufacturers of interconnect products in the world.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Quality Assurance and Quality Control strategies to ensure world-class product performance.
• Align quality initiatives with the organization’s ISO, AS9100, IATF 16949, and other industry standards.
• Lead the QA/QC team to drive excellence in quality management across all product categories, including electronic components, cable assemblies, precision machining & moulding, and interconnect solutions.
• Work closely with customers, suppliers, and internal departments to meet quality objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Manage incoming material inspections, ensuring compliance with specifications for electronic packaging, cable assemblies, and precision-moulded parts.
• Oversee the quality management system (QMS), ensuring adherence to industry certifications and customer expectations.
• Drive root cause analysis (RCA), corrective actions (CA), and preventive actions (PA) to improve product and process quality.
• Monitor and improve in-process quality performance through statistical process control (SPC), Six Sigma methodologies, and Lean practices.
• Conduct supplier audits, vendor qualification, and development programs to enhance supply chain quality.
• Establish and monitor key quality metrics, including yield, defect rates, rework, cost of poor quality (COPQ), and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure proper calibration and inspection of all measurement instruments and testing equipment.
• Lead initiatives for continuous improvement, digitization, and automation in quality processes.
• Coordinate customer complaints and returns management (RMA process) with efficient resolution strategies.
• Plan and execute internal, customer, and supplier audits to maintain high compliance standards.
• Drive cross-functional quality initiatives across product engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams.

Qualification & Expertise

• Engineering Graduate (preferably in Electronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering).
• Minimum 20 years of experience in Quality Assurance & Quality Control, with at least 10 years in a managerial/leadership role in an connector or electronic manufacturing industry.
• Strong expertise in electronic components, interconnect solutions, cable & wire harness assemblies, and precision machining/moulding.
• Proven experience in product, process, and supplier quality management.
• Hands-on knowledge of IPC standards (IPC 600, IPC 610, IPC 620), electronic packaging, and reliability testing.
• Experience in prototyping, NPI (New Product Introduction), and mass production quality activities.
• Strong understanding of ISO9001, ISO14001, AS9100, IATF 16949, NADCAP certifications.
• Proficiency in root cause analysis, corrective & preventive actions (RCA/CA/PA), 5S, Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma, and SPC.
• Excellent analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills to drive high-quality standards.
• Effective communication skills for customer and supplier interactions, training, and quality presentations.
