We are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to manage product and process quality across PCB assembly, SMT, through-hole, box-build, and finished-product operations.
The role will be responsible for shop-floor quality control, customer and supplier quality management, QMS compliance, audits, RCA/CAPA, and continuous improvement. The candidate should be hands-on and capable of driving quality improvements in a high-volume electronics manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Incoming (IQC), In-Process, and Final (OQC) quality activities across SMT, THT, box-build, and finished products.
- Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001 and customer-specific requirements.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis and CAPA using 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, Pareto, and other problem-solving tools.
- Develop and review PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, inspection standards, and work instructions.
- Support APQP and PPAP activities for new product introduction.
- Monitor quality KPIs such as FPY, DPMO, PPM, scrap, rework, and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and drive improvement actions.
- Apply quality tools including SPC, Cp/Cpk, MSA/Gauge R&R, and sampling plans.
- Manage supplier quality activities including incoming inspection, supplier performance rating, SCAR, and corrective actions.
- Act as the quality interface for customers and support customer audits, factory audits, quality reviews, complaints, and deviation/waiver requests.
- Plan and conduct internal, process, and product audits and ensure timely closure of findings.
- Manage calibration and traceability of measuring and testing equipment.
- Train production operators and inspectors on IPC workmanship standards, inspection criteria, ESD/MSD handling, and quality procedures.
- Support compliance requirements including BIS, RoHS, and customer-specific product requirements.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 QMS and customer-specific quality requirements.
- Good understanding of IPC-A-610, IPC-A-600, J-STD-001, and IPC/WHMA-A-620.
- Strong practical knowledge of 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC, Cp/Cpk, MSA, and sampling techniques.
- Hands-on experience with EMS processes such as SMT, reflow, wave/selective soldering, conformal coating, and box-build assembly.
- Knowledge of inspection and testing methods such as SPI, AOI, X-Ray, ICT, and Functional Testing.
- Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, BOMs, Gerber files, and customer specifications.
- Experience in conducting internal audits and handling customer/certification audits.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills with good knowledge of MS Excel and ERP/QMS systems.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills for effective coordination with customers, suppliers, Production, and Engineering teams.
Qualification & Experience
- BE/B.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of Quality Engineering experience, preferably with substantial experience in EMS / PCB Assembly / Consumer Electronics manufacturing.
- Proven experience in handling customer complaints, RCA, CAPA, quality improvement, and defect reduction.
- Experience working within a certified QMS and participating in customer and certification audits is preferred.
Good to Have
- ISO 9001 Internal Auditor certification.
- IPC-A-610 / J-STD-001 CIS/CIT certification.
- Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt.
- Experience handling quality requirements of large consumer brands/FMCG customers.
- Knowledge of BIS registration and consumer electronics compliance.
Compensation
6.5 9.5 LPA, depending on experience, technical expertise, and overall suitability.
- 5-7 years: 6.5 - 8.0 LPA
- 8+ years / independent customer audit & QMS ownership: 8.0 - 9.5 LPA

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should be a hands-on Quality Engineer with strong experience in electronics manufacturing and a solid understanding of QMS, IPC standards, customer quality requirements, and structured problem-solving. The candidate should be comfortable working on the shop floor and independently coordinating with Production, Engineering, Suppliers, and Customers.
