Job summary

Amadora Gourmet Ice Cream in Chennai seeks a Head of Operations & Franchise Business to own the franchisee network and ensure all stores run to Amadora standards. You will report to the Founder & MD, leading the Multi-Store Manager and working with training, supply chain and finance teams.

The role focuses on franchise onboarding, store performance, new openings, and setting operational SOPs. Regular travel across South India is expected to drive growth and consistency.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in retail or F&B operations, with 4–5 years managing franchise networks
• Strong grasp of store economics and ability to interpret P&L statements
• Proven track record of managing franchisees with accountability and fairness
• Experience launching new stores at pace and spending time in stores

Responsibilities

• Own the franchisee relationship end to end from onboarding to day-to-day performance
• Drive store sales, profitability, product quality, service standards and hygiene
• Conduct regular store visits and audits, enforce Amadora standards
• Review P&L and scorecards with franchisees, implement action plans for underperformance
• Lead new store openings including site readiness, staffing, training, stock and launch-day execution
• Ensure stock discipline with supply chain and close gaps in orders
• Build and enforce SOPs for store operations, food safety, and customer experience
• Direct the Multi-Store Manager and company-owned store teams

Head of Operations & Franchise Business — Amadora Gourmet Ice Cream

Chennai (with regular travel to Bangalore, Hyderabad and Kerala) | Full-time

Since 2011, Amadora has made premium artisanal ice cream from scratch, in small batches, with real ingredients and no premixes. We’ll have 21 stores across Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Cochin by the end of this year, with 20 more planned for 2027 across Karnataka, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh. Our range now covers ice cream, bars, cakes, sandwiches, chocolate bars and baked goods, all produced in our central kitchen and supplied to every store.

We’re a franchise-led business. Our growth depends on franchisees who run great stores and succeed with us, and that’s where this role comes in.

The Role

You’ll be the single point of contact for every Amadora franchisee and the person accountable for how every store runs, franchise and company-owned. You’ll report directly to the Founder & MD, with the Multi-Store Manager reporting to you, and work closely with our training, supply chain and finance teams.

What You’ll Do

• Own the franchisee relationship end to end, from onboarding and store opening to day-to-day performance and escalations
• Drive store performance: sales, profitability, product quality, service standards and hygiene across all locations
• Run regular store visits and audits, and hold franchisees and store teams to Amadora’s standards
• Review store P&Ls and scorecards with franchisees, spot underperformance early and agree action plans
• Lead new store openings, including site readiness, staffing, training, stock and launch-day execution
• Make sure every store holds the right stock, working with supply chain on ordering discipline and gaps
• Build and enforce SOPs for store operations, food safety and customer experience
• Lead the Multi-Store Manager and company-owned store teams
• Support franchise development by helping evaluate new partners and locations

What You Bring

• 10+ years in retail or F&B operations, with at least 4–5 years managing franchise networks
• A strong grasp of store economics, with the ability to read a store P&L and act on it
• Proven ability to handle franchisees firmly and fairly, building trust while holding them accountable
• Experience launching new stores at pace
• Someone who spends most of their time in stores, not behind a desk
• Willingness to travel frequently across South India

What Success Looks Like (First 12 Months)

• Every franchisee has a clear point of contact, a regular review cadence and a performance scorecard
• Consistent operating standards across all stores, verified through a regular audit programme
• All 2027 store openings delivered on time using a repeatable opening playbook
• Stock-outs at store level sharply reduced, with franchisee ordering discipline in place
• Underperforming stores identified early, with turnaround plans agreed and tracked
• A strong operations team in place under you, including the Multi-Store Manager and area-level support as the network grows
