MRG Global is seeking a seasoned Contracts Lead for its Mumbai operations, to guide commercial and contractual functions across high-rise residential and redevelopment projects.

You will lead procurement strategy, tendering, negotiations and post‑award contract administration, interfacing with management, consultants and vendors.

The ideal candidate holds a BE/BTech in Civil Engineering with 15+ years of experience in real estate development or leading EPC firms in Mumbai.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Civil Engineering is required.
• 15+ years of experience in Contracts, Commercial Management, Quantity Surveying or Procurement.
• Experience with high-rise residential, redevelopment projects and Grade-A assets in Mumbai.

Responsibilities

• Lead contracting and procurement strategy across civil, MEP, and major packages.
• Oversee tendering, empanelment, techno-commercial evaluations and contract negotiations.
• Prepare and review RFPs, BOQs, tender documents, LOAs, work orders and contract agreements.
• Manage post-award activities: variations, extra items, claims, EOTs and disputes.
• Oversee contractor billing, cost tracking and final account settlements.
• Support value engineering and cost optimization across projects.
• Provide commercial inputs to senior management across project lifecycle decisions.

Job description

MRG Global is partnering with a leading luxury real estate developer to appoint a Contracts Lead for its Mumbai operations. The organization is involved in high-end residential developments, redevelopment projects and Grade-A commercial assets, and is looking for a senior contracts professional to lead commercial and contractual functions across its project portfolio.

This is an opportunity for a Civil Engineering professional with strong contracts and commercial experience who has worked on large-scale high-rise residential and redevelopment projects in Mumbai.

The Role

You will lead the contracts function across active and upcoming projects, working closely with senior management, project teams, consultants, contractors and vendors. Your focus will be on strengthening procurement and contracting strategy, commercial governance, cost control and post-award contract administration.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing contracting and procurement strategies across civil, structural, MEP, façade, interiors and other major packages.

• Leading tendering, contractor empanelment, techno-commercial evaluations and contract negotiations.

• Preparing and reviewing RFPs, BOQs, tender documents, LOAs, work orders and contract agreements.

• Managing post-award contracts, including variations, extra items, claims, EOT, LDs and commercial negotiations.

• Overseeing contractor billing, material reconciliation, cost tracking and final account settlements.

• Supporting value engineering and cost optimization across projects.

• Managing contractual risks and working with project and legal teams on dispute resolution.

• Building and maintaining strong relationships with contractors, consultants and specialist vendors.

• Providing commercial and contractual inputs to senior management across project lifecycle decisions.

Candidate Profile

You will have a BE/BTech in Civil Engineering with 15+ years of experience in Contracts, Commercial Management, Quantity Surveying or Procurement within real estate development or leading EPC organisations.

Experience across high-rise residential developments, redevelopment projects and Grade-A commercial assets in Mumbai is highly relevant. Exposure to projects of G+30 and above, along with strong knowledge of local contractors, consultants and Mumbai construction practices, would be preferred.

You should have strong hands‑on experience across tendering, negotiations, contract administration, variations, claims, EOT, billing and final accounts, with the commercial judgement and leadership capability to manage complex projects and senior stakeholders.
