Job summary

Prudential plc in Bengaluru, India, is seeking a seasoned IT professional to enhance and support the LifeAsia-based application landscape. You will analyze requirements, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and implement robust solutions across Life/400 and Asia platforms.

The role demands expertise in AS/400, SMART/400, COBOL400, and LifeAsia SOAP APIs, with a focus on delivering reliable, compliant software aligned with IT governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher degree in CS/engineering.
• 10+ years experience in AS/400, SMART/400 insurance apps (Life/400, Life/Asia).
• Experience with LifeAsia SOAP APIs.
• Develops, customizes, enhances, maintains Life/400, Life/Asia, Integral Life software.

Responsibilities

• Enhancement and maintenance of Core admin system.
• Work with frontend system teams to ensure end-to-end software lifecycle is robust.
• Ensure Applications Management aligns with company strategy.
• Define and document scope changes during project life cycle.
• Collaborate with business teams to understand and propose efficient solutions.
• Analyze problems and implement suitable technical solutions.
• Prepare technical specs, maintain and document changes, conduct testing.
• Complete assignments within deadlines.
• Quality analysis before acceptance testing.
• Work with Business Analysts to deliver robust, error-free applications.
• Ensure development and implementation comply with IT governance policy.
• Provide technical reviews and motivate junior developers.

Candidate is to understand LifeAsia application and should be able to enhance and support the application efficiently by doing a proper impact analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Enhancement and maintenance of Core admin system
• Work closely with other front-end system application team to ensure end-to-end software lifecycle is robust
• Ensuring the Applications Management function is aligned with company strategy.
• Define and document scope changes during the project life cycle.
• Collaborate with business teams to understand and suggest best & efficient solution to cater to business needs
• Analyze problems and implement appropriate technical solutions
• Prepare the technical specification, Maintain and document the changes, Conduct Unit/Integration testing
• Complete the assignments within the agreed deadline
• Quality analysis of the programs/system before acceptance testing
• Work closely with Business Analyst to deliver a robust and error-free application systems
• Ensure that all development and implementation are compliant with IT governance policy
• Technical review and quality analysis of the code done by junior members to ensure learning and motivation for subordinates

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor or Higher Degree in Computer Science and engineering.
• Minimum 10 years' experience in Experience in AS/400, SMART/400 based insurance applications specialized in Life/400, Life/Asia application.
• Experience in working with LifeAsia SOAP API’s
• Provide a good quality level of SMART/400 based insurance applications.
• Develops, customizes, enhances, maintains and supports Life/400, Life/Asia, Integral Life Insurance software application system

Key Attributes

• Strong analytical skill
• Strong co-ordination skills required to liaise with counterparts within the Company.
• Experience in conceptual and functional business process modeling.
• Knowledge of insurance industry is a plus
• Relationship management skills
• Being able to communicate in fluent English
