Job summary

Hero MotoCorp is seeking a Head IT & Digital Manufacturing & Supply Chain Systems to drive digital transformation across manufacturing and operational functions. You will define and deliver digital products aligned with business goals, acting as the strategic interface between business stakeholders and development teams.

The role focuses on agile delivery, solution design, process optimization for OEE improvement, and change management across manufacturing and supply chain operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or IT preferred).
• MBA or PGDM in Operations/Technology Management or equivalent desirable.
• 15+ years total experience with at least 5 years in a Product Owner or Digital Transformation role.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for digital solutions supporting operations (Manufacturing, SCM, Quality, Plant Maintenance).
• Serve as liaison between business units, IT teams, and vendors to translate challenges into product requirements.
• Lead Agile delivery: sprint planning, backlog grooming, user stories, UAT, releases.

Job Title: Head IT & Digital Manufacturing & Supply Chain Systems

Job Purpose Statement

To drive digital transformation initiatives across manufacturing and operational functions by defining and delivering digital products aligned with business goals.

The Head IT & Digital Manufacturing & Supply Chain Systems – acts as the strategic interface between business stakeholders and the digital development teams, ensuring agile delivery of digital solutions that enhance efficiency, visibility, and innovation across manufacturing, supply chain, and operations.

Key Responsibility

• Digital Product Ownership: Define and own the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for digital solutions supporting operations (Manufacturing, SCM, Quality, Plant Maintenance, etc.).
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison between business units, IT teams, and vendors to understand operational challenges and translate them into digital product requirements.
• Agile Delivery Management: Lead product development lifecycle using Agile methodology – sprint planning, backlog grooming, user story creation, UAT, and release planning.
• Solution Design: Collaborate with enterprise architects and solution leads to ensure alignment with overall digital strategy, system architecture, and IT security standards.
• Process Optimization: Identify areas for process improvement and digitization across manufacturing and operations functions; drive initiatives to improve OEE, reduce downtime, and streamline workflows.
• Change Management: Facilitate user adoption through effective change management, training, and continuous feedback loops.
• Vendor & Partner Management: Coordinate with technology partners and solution vendors for effective product delivery and support.

Academic Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or IT preferred);
• MBA or PGDM in Operations/Technology Management or equivalent is desirable

Relevant Experience

• 15+ years of total experience with at least 5 years in a Product Owner or Digital Transformation role.
• Proven experience working in manufacturing operations with a strong understanding of supply chain, and production systems.
• Hands-on experience managing digital products using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience in ERP (SAP), MES, IIoT platforms, or related smart manufacturing technologies. Experience in planning, procurement systems

Technical Skills/Knowledge

• Knowledge of manufacturing systems like MES, SCADA, PLCs, CMMS, etc.
• Familiarity with SAP (PP, PM, MM), IIoT platforms (e.g., PTC ThingWorx, Siemens Mindsphere), planning, procurement systems
• Understanding of data analytics, AI/ML applications in manufacturing
• Exposure to integration frameworks and APIs
• Basic knowledge of cybersecurity and data governance in operational systems
