On behalf of a leading industrial conglomerate, we invite applications for the position of Head – Global Procurement for their Metallurgy division, based in Mumbai.

Role Overview:

This senior leadership role entails establishing and managing a unified Global Sourcing Centre of Excellence (COE) for the metallurgy/metals group. The incumbent will spearhead strategic sourcing initiatives focused on operational expenditure (OPEX) and raw material (RM) spend, driving cost efficiencies, quality, and supply chain resilience across group companies. Capital expenditure (CAPEX) sourcing is excluded from this mandate.

This role offers a unique platform to lead transformation in a major industrial group’s metallurgy division, influencing global sourcing strategy and delivering substantial value.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate a centralized Global Sourcing COE to optimize sourcing synergies and economies of scale.
• Develop and maintain a robust global vendor network delivering world-class quality, competitive pricing, and reliable supply.
• Drive sourcing strategies for new products and emerging technologies in collaboration with Engineering, validating vendor processes and quality standards.
• Provide strategic leadership while operational purchasing remains decentralized at plant/company level with dotted line reporting to this role.
• Foster strong relationships with senior vendor management and coordinate continuously with group companies to resolve sourcing challenges.

Candidate Profile:

• Graduate engineer (MBA preferred but not mandatory).
• Age preferably between 38 and 52 years.
• Proven track record in establishing and leading a global sourcing centre.
• Demonstrated capability in vendor development, master contract negotiation, and senior stakeholder engagement.
