Role Overview
The Hardware & Network Engineer is responsible for ensuring infrastructure readiness, network reliability, firewall security governance, and RFID hardware integration across enterprise client environments. This is a high-accountability role responsible for deployment stability, infrastructure compliance, and security posture during and after go-live.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Deployment & Governance
- Lead hardware deployments across retail and enterprise environments.
- Validate infrastructure readiness before ERP go-live.
- Maintain preventive maintenance standards.
- Document infrastructure configurations and network topology.
Network Architecture & Reliability
- Configure LAN/WAN environments across multi-branch setups.
- Implement VLAN segmentation and IP addressing schemes.
- Troubleshoot connectivity and performance bottlenecks.
- Maintain network optimization standards.
Firewall & Security Governance
- Configure and manage firewall rules (Fortinet, Sophos, SonicWall, MikroTik preferred).
- Implement VPN connectivity (site-to-site & remote access).
- Maintain firewall change logs and documentation.
- Ensure secure perimeter control across deployments.
RFID Infrastructure Integration
- Deploy and validate RFID readers and antennas.
- Troubleshoot scanning inconsistencies.
- Ensure synchronization with ERP systems.
- Maintain structured RFID installation checklist.
Success Metrics
- Zero critical infrastructure failures during go-live.
- 99%+ infrastructure uptime post-deployment.
- Complete documentation coverage.
- No unresolved high-risk security gaps post implementation.
- Minimal infrastructure-related escalations within 30 days.
Required Qualifications
- 4–8 years in hardware and network engineering.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLAN, Subnetting).
- Hands-on firewall configuration experience.
- RFID hardware handling preferred.
- Retail or multi-location environment experience preferred.
