Job summary

Planys Technologies is seeking an experienced hardware design engineer in Chennai to contribute to embedded hardware, power electronics, and communication systems. You will work on schematic and PCB design, firmware for AVR/ARM MCUs, and hands-on testing and debugging across OEM hardware platforms.

The role emphasizes product development tasks, documentation, and collaboration with vendors. Strong knowledge of semiconductors and communication protocols is required, with excellent communication

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years experience in hardware design engineering (Embedded or Power Electronics domain).
• Hands-on experience with Schematic design, PCB design, testing, and debugging.
• Strong knowledge of semiconductors and communication protocols.
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Design and development of hardware architecture for embedded, power electronics, and communication systems
• Circuit Simulation, Thermal Analysis, PCB Design (using ECAD tools such as Fusion 360 preferred)
• Firmware development for AVR & ARM microcontrollers
• Product development tasks: Market survey, BOM preparation, reports, manuals, vendor management
• Hands-on work in soldering, testing, and troubleshooting OEM hardware (Through-hole & SMD packages)
• Electronic component testing using DSO, LCR meter, Multimeter, Megger, etc.
• Adherence to 5S, safety protocols, and systematic laboratory practices
• Strong knowledge of semiconductors, communication protocols, and electronics
• Expertise in Power Converters, Motor Drivers, Embedded MCUs (AVR, ARM)
• Familiarity with Circuit Simulation Tools (Proteus, Texas Workbench, Ansys preferred)
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) for documentation and reporting
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills

Preferred candidate profile

• BE/B.Tech in Electrical/Electronics/Embedded Systems/Equivalent
• Minimum 2+ year experience in hardware design engineering (Embedded or Power Electronics domain)
