You will develop category strategies, build supplier networks, lead negotiations and deliver annual savings through procurement

Qualifications

• 12–18 years of progressive procurement experience.
• Strong indirect procurement and NPD sourcing experience.
• Minimum 5 years of people leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Procurement Leadership: Develop and execute enterprise-wide procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
• New Product Development & R&D Procurement: Lead sourcing support for Medical Device NPD programs across Orthopaedics, Cardiology, and Nephrology.
• Manufacturing, Operations & Capex Procurement: Lead procurement across manufacturing equipment, automation projects, utilities, MRO and related services.
• Cost & Value Management: Deliver annual savings and leverage spend analytics and Total Cost of Ownership.
• Leadership & Business Partnership: Partner with senior leaders, develop the procurement team and drive transformation.

Function: Procurement

Zydus MedTech is looking for a seasoned procurement leader to head the Group Indirect Procurement function and drive strategic sourcing, supplier partnerships, cost optimization, governance, and procurement transformation across the organization.

This is a high-impact leadership role that will partner with R&D, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial, and Corporate functions to support business growth, operational resilience, innovation, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Procurement Leadership

• Develop and execute enterprise-wide procurement strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Establish category strategies, sourcing roadmaps, and long-term procurement plans.
• Drive procurement governance, process standardization, and operational excellence.
• Build scalable procurement capabilities to support growth, expansion, and new product development.
• Deliver sustainable value through cost optimization, supplier innovation, and risk mitigation initiatives.

New Product Development & R&D Procurement

• Lead sourcing support for Medical Device NPD programs across Orthopaedics, Cardiology, and Nephrology.
• Identify and develop domestic and global supplier networks for specialized materials, technologies, and services.
• Enable faster product development through strong supplier collaboration and sourcing agility.

Manufacturing, Operations & Capex Procurement

Lead procurement across:

• Manufacturing equipment and automation projects
• Cleanroom infrastructure and facility expansion
• Utilities, engineering, calibration, and validation services
• MRO and industrial consumables
• Digitization and operational excellence initiatives
• Build strategic supplier partnerships and drive supplier performance improvement.
• Lead high-value commercial negotiations and contract management.
• Implement risk management and business continuity plans for critical categories.
• Drive supplier-led innovation, value engineering, and alternate sourcing strategies.

Cost & Value Management

• Deliver annual savings and productivity targets.
• Leverage spend analytics and Total Cost of Ownership methodologies.
• Drive supplier consolidation, demand management, and working capital improvement initiatives.

Leadership & Business Partnership

• Partner with senior business leaders to influence strategic decisions.
• Lead and develop a high-performing procurement team.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Drive procurement transformation and capability-building initiatives.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Industrial, or related disciplines)
• MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain, Operations, Procurement, or related field preferred

Experience

• 12 to 18 years of progressive procurement experience
• Strong experience in indirect procurement and sourcing support for New Product Development
• Minimum 5 years of people leadership experience
• Proven track record in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, cost optimization, and procurement transformation
