Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a telecom lab support engineer in Chennai to set up and maintain 4G/5G lab environments, administer Linux systems, and support testbed infrastructure. The role involves monitoring systems, basic testing, and traffic analysis with Wireshark.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related field).
• Strong knowledge of Linux fundamentals with hands-on system commands.
• Basic understanding of 4G/5G technologies and telecom architecture.
• Understanding of OSI and TCP/IP models.
• Knowledge of IP networking concepts (IP addressing, subnetting, routing).
• Familiarity with protocols such as TCP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS.
• Experience with networking tools (ping, traceroute, netstat, etc.).
• Basic understanding of packet flow and troubleshooting techniques.
• Exposure to packet capture tools (Wireshark) is preferred.
• Basic scripting knowledge (Shell/Python) is an advantage.
