Job summary

Icl Fincorp is seeking a Gold Auditor to ensure the accuracy, quality, security, and compliance of gold loan operations across branches.

The role involves conducting physical verification of pledged gold, reviewing appraisal processes, and identifying discrepancies to ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements. Travel to branches will be extensive.

Qualifications

• Experience in Gold Loan / Gold Appraisal / Gold Audit / Branch Audit preferred.
• Knowledge of gold ornaments, purity testing, weight verification, and valuation.
• Good understanding of gold loan operations and branch processes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physical verification and audit of pledged gold at branches.
• Verify gold packets, ornaments, weight, purity, tagging, documentation and records.
• Review the gold appraisal process and identify deviations or irregularities.
• Cross-check physical gold with system records and branch registers.
• Identify discrepancies, operational lapses, process violations and risks.
• Verify compliance with gold loan policies and procedures.
• Conduct surprise/periodic audits of gold loan branches as required.
• Prepare detailed audit reports and highlight observations to management.
• Follow up on audit observations and ensure timely corrective action.

The candidate will be responsible for conducting physical verification of pledged gold, reviewing appraisal processes, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct physical verification and audit of pledged gold at branches.
• Verify gold packets, ornaments, weight, purity, tagging, documentation, and records.
• Review the gold appraisal process and identify deviations or irregularities.
• Cross-check physical gold with system records and branch registers.
• Identify discrepancies, operational lapses, process violations, and potential risks.
• Verify compliance with prescribed gold loan policies and procedures.
• Conduct surprise/periodic audits of gold loan branches as required.
• Prepare detailed audit reports and highlight observations to the concerned management.
• Follow up on audit observations and ensure timely corrective action.Coordinate with Branch Managers, Gold Appraisers, Operations, Audit, and Regional teams.
• Ensure proper custody and handling procedures for pledged gold.
• Support investigation of gold-related operational discrepancies whenever required.

Candidate Profile

• Experience in Gold Loan / Gold Appraisal / Gold Audit / Branch Audit will be preferred.
• Knowledge of gold ornaments, purity testing, weight verification, and valuation.
• Good understanding of gold loan operations and branch processes.
• Strong observation and analytical skills.
• Ability to identify operational risks and discrepancies.
• Good communication and report-writing skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively to branches for audits.
• Candidates with experience in NBFCs, banks, or financial institutions will be preferred.
