Job summary

Tata Tele Business Services is seeking a Team member - GIS to manage GIS governance and data quality for all OSP and fiber elements in the network. The role requires hands-on GIS experience and collaboration with partners to keep data in sync with field information.

Key tasks include updating data models, generating required GIS reports, and ensuring GIS data accuracy across network elements, with an emphasis on OSP planning and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with GIS platforms and OSP knowledge.
• Experience with telecom technologies like SDH, OTN, ASON, DWDM, GPON.
• Familiarity with EMPower, SFDC, Metasolv, SAP and Viznet CRM tools is advantageous.
• Strong MS-Office skills and analytical/problem solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage GIS governance and data quality for all OSP and fiber elements.
• Collaborate with MS provider to keep GIS synced with field data in a timely manner.
• Prepare monthly KPI reconciliations based on MS provider data.
• Configure reports in GIS and extract required reports as per governance logic.
• Extract MAP Info data in KMZ format and share circle-wise with FO/CPO teams.
• Update GIS data: network building, fiber routes, floor, chamber location, equipment.
• Maintain GIS vs network data accuracy.

Job description

Job responsibility

Team member - GIS is responsible for GIS Management & Governance of all the OSP and Fiber elements in the Network.

Major responsibilities include:

1. Data Model Changes implementation in the system. e. g. adding new attribute in the system.


2. Working with MS provider to ensure that GIS is updated and synchronized with field data on timely manner.


3. Monthly signoff of MS provider KPI basis reconciliation.


4. Supporting user to configure required reports in GIS. Here GIS Governance team implement a logic to configure and extract required report from GIS.


5. Working in MAP Info to extract data in KMZ format, Bifurcate data circle wise for sharing with FO/CPO team.


6. Data updating into GIS e. g. Network Building, Fiber Routes, Floor, Chamber location, equipment.


7. Maintaining GIS vs Network data accuracy

The aspirant for Team member - GIS role must have in-depth understanding about the GIS systems to deliver the same with the partners.

• Hands-on experience on GIS Platforms with hands on knowledge of OSP.


• Product knowledge Understanding of Technology & Products - SDH , OTN , ASON, DWDM , GPON ETC


• Understanding of EMPower, SFDC, Metasolv, SAP & Viznet CRM tools, is an added advantage.


• Highly skilled in use of MS-Office and Efficiency enhancement tools.

Working experience with prominent telecom operators or deployment with similar setup and operations.

Qualification Diploma/ B. E. (Telecom/Communication)

Overall Work Experience 6 to 8 Years in GIS & Small World Platforms
