Job summary

Assystem is seeking a GIS Expert in Bengaluru to drive hydrology, storm water and flood modelling projects. You will manage GIS data, run analyses, and integrate models like HEC-RAS/HEC-HMS, SWMM, and MIKE with a focus on infrastructure resilience.

The role requires 5–10 years in hydrology or water resources and strong GIS/remote sensing skills. Collaboration with hydrologists and engineers is essential for delivering technical maps, reports and dashboards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geomatics, Civil Eng, Geography, or related field; master's preferred.
• Experience in hydrology, storm water, flood modelling or water resources.
• Experience in urban drainage and flood risk assessment is preferred.
• Strong GIS and remote sensing skills; proficiency with ArcGIS/QGIS.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams on infrastructure projects.

• Perform watershed delineation, terrain analysis, drainage mapping, and floodplain studies.
• Prepare GIS inputs for HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, MIKE, InfoWorks.

• Process DEM, LiDAR, satellite imagery, and survey data.
• Produce GIS-based maps, reports, and visualizations/dashboards.

GIS Expert – Hydrology, Storm Water & Flood Modelling

Role Summary:

Responsible for GIS-based analysis and management of spatial data for hydrology, storm water, watershed, and flood modelling projects. The position supports hydrological and hydraulic studies through geospatial analysis, mapping, database management, and model integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain GIS databases and geospatial datasets.
• Perform watershed delineation, terrain analysis, drainage network mapping, and floodplain studies.
• Prepare GIS inputs and process outputs for HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, MIKE, InfoWorks, and similar models.
• Generate flood inundation, hazard, risk, and storm water management maps.
• Process DEM, LiDAR, satellite imagery, and survey data.
• Produce technical maps, reports, and GIS-based visualizations/dashboards.
• Coordinate with hydrologists, hydraulic engineers, and project teams.
