Zalaris seeks a German-speaking Global Payroll Specialist to join our Chennai team. You will support delivery of payroll services across multiple countries, handling data management, inputs, queries, and reporting with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

Ideal candidates have 6–8 years in payroll operations, strong SAP Payroll and SuccessFactors experience, and German language skills (B2–C1). English proficiency and Excel expertise are essential for effective stakeholder collaboration.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of progressive payroll operations experience across EMEA and EU countries.
• Hands-on SAP Payroll (HCM) and SAP SuccessFactors experience.
• German language skills at B2–C1 level.
• Experience supporting German payroll is a strong advantage.
• Fluent English with strong communication and collaboration.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.

Job Title: German-Speaking Global Payroll Specialist

Location: Chennai, IN

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Global Payroll Specialist with strong German language skills to join our Global Payroll team and support the delivery of accurate and timely payroll services across multiple countries. The role will involve managing employee and payroll data, processing payroll inputs, handling payroll-related queries and cases, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with local payroll requirements.

Your Responsibilities

• Registration and maintenance of employee data (e.g., new hires, changes, terminations, tax information, pension control)
• Maintenance of organizational structure
• Absence /attendance registration and handling
• Registration of payroll data input (e.g., deductions, benefits, bonuses, new salaries)
• Preparation and delivery of reports
• Handling service requests through C4C system and inquiries by phone
• Producing the contracts and other employment related documentation Maintaining physical and / or electronical archive
• To solve problems and be a case manager for complex multi functional issues.
• Train and guide other team members.
• Performing any additional tasks, linked to the primary scope of the position.

Your Experience And Skills

• 6–8 years of progressive experience in payroll operations, with significant exposure to multiple EMEA and EU countries.
• Hands-on, in-depth experience with SAP Payroll (SAP HCM) and SAP SuccessFactors (Employee Central / Employee Central Payroll).
• German language skills at B2–C1 level are highly desirable.
• Previous experience supporting or processing German payroll is a strong advantage.
• Experience working with German-speaking employees, stakeholders, or clients is an advantage.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills; fluent in English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related reporting tools.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a service-oriented environment.
