Job summary

ZALARIS Deutschland AG in Chennai, India seeks a German Language Expert to support payroll operations across the employee life cycle, from onboarding to offboarding. You will bridge German stakeholders with internal teams, ensuring accurate documentation and timely service delivery.

Role combines strong German language skills with payroll domain knowledge. 2–3 years of related experience and flexibility to work with German-speaking clients are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Translation, Interpreting, HR, or related field.
• 2–3 years of payroll/HR or language/translation experience is an advantage.
• Proficiency in German (B2–C1 level).
• SAP experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end Employee Life Cycle Management mandates, including EDM, payroll, and travel processing requests.
• Process payroll accurately and in compliance with relevant standards, reflecting life cycle events.
• Work closely with German-speaking customers and employees, resolving queries within SLAs.
• Bridge German language requirements for internal process teams to achieve targets.
• Translate documents between German and English across HR, payroll, and life cycle docs.
• Maintain and update organizational structure data to reflect life cycle changes.
• Prepare and deliver operational and management reports.
• Train and guide team members on German language usage and payroll/life cycle processes.

Job Title: HR Services Partner - German Language Expert

Location: Chennai, IN

Role Summary

As part of our HR Services - Employee Life Cycle Management team, we are seeking a German Language Expert to support payroll operations across the employee life cycle from onboarding data and organizational structure changes through to ongoing pay administration and offboarding-related processing.

This role combines strong German language skills with payroll domain knowledge to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely service delivery for German-speaking clients and employees.You will act as a language and communication bridge between German stakeholders and internal process teams, ensuring accurate documentation, effective query resolution, and a consistently high-quality employee experience throughout each stage of the life cycle hire, change, pay, and leave.

Your Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end Employee Life Cycle Management mandates, including EDM (Employee Data Management), payroll, and travel processing requests
• Process payroll accurately and in compliance with relevant standards, ensuring employee life cycle events (new hires, transfers, terminations, changes) are reflected correctly
• Work closely with German-speaking customers and employees, resolving queries and delivering solutions within agreed SLAs
• Support internal process experts by bridging German language requirements, helping the team achieve shared service delivery targets
• Translate documents from German to English and English to German, ensuring accuracy across HR, payroll, and life cycle documentation
• Maintain and update organizational structure data to reflect life cycle changes accurately
• Prepare and deliver operational and management reports
• Train and guide team members on German language usage and payroll/life cycle process nuances
• Perform additional tasks aligned with the scope of employee life cycle and payroll operations as required

Your Experience and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Translation, Interpreting, HR, or a related field
• 2–3 years of relevant experience (payroll, HR services, or language/translation experience) is an advantage
• Proficiency in German (B2–C1 level)
• SAP experience is an advantage
• Strong client communication skills and enjoyment of stakeholder engagement
• Digital affinity and openness to learning new tools and processes
