Job summary

Kumaran Systems is hiring GIS Developers to drive a critical migration from ArcGIS ArcObjects to ArcGIS Pro CoreHost on .NET 8. You will work hands-on with ArcGIS Pro SDK and ArcObjects APIs to process geospatial data, build pipelines, and develop batch tools for large-scale datasets.

The role requires 4 to 12 years of experience, location in Chennai or Hyderabad, and flexibility for on-site work. Strong expertise in C# .NET and Python scripting is essential for success.

Qualifications

• 4–12 years of GIS development experience.
• Strong ArcGIS Pro SDK and ArcObjects knowledge.
• Experience migrating ArcGIS/ArcObjects to ArcGIS Pro CoreHost on .NET 8.
• Proficiency in C# .NET and Python scripting.
• Familiarity with geospatial data formats and database GIS (Oracle Spatial).

Responsibilities

• Migrate legacy ArcObjects code to ArcGIS Pro CoreHost (.NET 8) with parity.
• Develop and optimize geometry processing for large spatial datasets.
• Build automated data import/export pipelines across shapefiles, geodatabases, and Oracle Spatial.
• Create headless CLI/console apps with Python/ArcPy for batch geoprocessing.

We are hiring GIS Developers with strong expertise in ArcGIS Pro SDK and C# .NET to drive a critical migration initiative from legacy ArcGIS (ArcObjects/COM) to ArcGIS Pro CoreHost on .NET 8. This is a hands‑on technical role involving geospatial data processing, pipeline development, and headless application building.

What You'll Do

• Migrate legacy COM-based ArcObjects code to ArcGIS Pro CoreHost (.NET 8), ensuring full functional parity
• Develop & optimize geometry processing operations (buffer, intersect, union, reprojection) for large-scale spatial datasets
• Build automated data import/export pipelines across shapefiles, geodatabases, and Oracle Spatial
• Develop headless CLI/console applications with Python/ArcPy integration for batch geoprocessing
• Project scope involves migrating from ArcGIS to ArcGIS Pro; candidates having exposure or knowledge of Pro is an added advantage.

What We're Looking For

• Strong hands‑on experience with ArcGIS Pro SDK (ArcGIS.Core.Geometry / ArcGIS.Core.Data) – Primary Focus.
• Working knowledge of ArcObjects APIs (IFeatureClass, ITopologicalOperator) for migration comprehension
• Solid understanding of GIS concepts: spatial data modeling, coordinate systems, and geospatial analysis
• Experience with data conversion across formats — XML, JSON, shapefiles, geodatabases
• Familiarity with map rendering — vector/raster, ICAO-compliant symbology and layering
• Knowledge of computational geometry principles

Back-End & Programming

• Proficient in C# across .NET Framework and .NET 8 (async/await, LINQ) – Supporting Focus.
• Python scripting for automation, ArcPy-based geoprocessing, and server configuration (Windows/Linux)
• Performance optimization: cursor handling, memory management, COM interop cleanup

Database

• Experience with Oracle Spatial, SQL, and PL/SQL
• Spatial database design and administration

Front-End (Basic)

• Basic understanding of graphics/OpenGL programming

Nice to Have

• Experience with FME for spatial ETL workflows
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for GIS tool deployment (Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions)
