Lauritz Knudsen Electrical and Automation, a unit of Schneider Electric India Pvt. Ltd., seeks a General Manager – Production Planning & Control (PPC) to lead end-to-end PPC for the LK Factory in Ahmednagar.

You will drive demand planning, capacity, inventory, and customer delivery alignment with cross-functional teams. The role requires 15–20 years in manufacturing operations with ERP exposure and a track record of Lean improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
  • MBA/PGDM in operations or SCM preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in large-scale manufacturing and ERP exposure.

Responsibilities

  • Develop annual, monthly, weekly, and daily production plans based on forecasts.
  • Lead S&OP reviews with cross-functional teams to align demand and supply.
  • Drive inventory optimization across materials, WIP, and finished goods.
  • Ensure on-time, in-full delivery with logistics coordination.
  • Collaborate with procurement to ensure material availability and risk mitigation.
  • Analyze capacity and bottlenecks; propose improvements and investments.
  • Monitor production performance and enforce adherence to schedules.
  • Drive ERP utilization and digital dashboards for real-time insights.
  • Lead Lean initiatives to improve turns, cycle times, and efficiency.
  • Coach PPC team; set goals, mentor talent, and plan succession.

Job Purpose

To lead and manage end-to-end Production Planning & Control functions for the plant by ensuring optimum production scheduling, resource utilization, inventory management, customer delivery performance, and cross-functional coordination. The role is responsible for aligning manufacturing operations with customer demand, business objectives, and operational excellence initiatives while ensuring inventory optimization and supply chain efficiency.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Production Planning & Scheduling
  • Develop annual, monthly, weekly, and daily production plans based on sales forecasts and customer requirements.
  • Ensure optimum machine loading and capacity utilization across manufacturing departments.
  • Monitor production adherence against plan and take corrective actions to address deviations.
  • Balance demand and capacity to achieve desired service levels and manufacturing efficiency.
Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP)
  • Lead S&OP reviews with Sales, Marketing, Procurement, Production, and Finance teams.
  • Ensure effective demand planning and conversion into executable production plans.
  • Identify constraints and recommend mitigation plans.
Inventory Management
  • Drive inventory optimization of Raw Materials, WIP, Bought-out Components, and Finished Goods.
  • Establish inventory norms and monitor compliance.
  • Reduce excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory.
  • Ensure uninterrupted material availability for production.
Customer Delivery Management
  • Ensure achievement of OTIF (On-Time In-Full) delivery targets.
  • Monitor customer order fulfillment and dispatch schedules.
  • Coordinate with logistics and supply chain teams for timely deliveries.
Material Planning & Procurement Coordination
  • Collaborate with Procurement and Supply Chain teams to ensure availability of materials and components.
  • Review material shortages and expedite critical supplies.
  • Manage risk associated with supply disruptions.
Capacity & Resource Planning
  • Conduct capacity analysis and identify bottlenecks.
  • Recommend investments, outsourcing, or process improvements to meet growing demand.
  • Optimize manpower and equipment utilization.
Production Control & Monitoring
  • Review daily production performance and adherence to schedules.
  • Analyze production losses and implement corrective actions.
  • Establish robust production control systems and MIS reporting.
ERP & Digitalization
  • Drive effective utilization of ERP systems for planning and inventory management.
  • Implement digital dashboards and analytics for real-time monitoring.
  • Improve data accuracy and planning effectiveness.
Continuous Improvement
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and productivity improvement initiatives.
  • Improve inventory turns, order fulfilment rates, and planning accuracy.
  • Drive cross-functional process improvements.
Team Leadership
  • Lead and develop the PPC team.
  • Establish performance goals and succession planning.
  • Coach and mentor planning professionals for future leadership roles.
