Job description

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven General Manager – Operations to oversee and streamline our supply chain, warehousing, export procurement, and documentation functions. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and experience in managing cross-functional teams in the automotive spare parts sector. The GM – Operations will be responsible for operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, compliance, and ensuring timely execution of exports.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Warehouse Operations Management – Key Target –Oversee inbound and outbound logistics/material movement for all automotive spare parts inventory.

Minimize slow-moving and obsolete inventory through periodic analysis and execution of stock clearance strategies.
Reduce errors in part shipments through system improvements and process audits.
Ensure the warehouse meets monthly operational and performance targets (dispatch rate, order accuracy, etc.).
Guide and mentor warehouse supervisors and workers to ensure efficiency and accountability.
Implement safety, housekeeping, and maintenance practices in the warehouse.

2.Export Procurement Management

Supervise the Export Procurement Manager to ensure timely and accurate ordering of parts from vendors.
Ensure Purchase Orders match customer requirements and market demand.
Monitor GRN (Goods Receipt Notes) processes to maintain accurate inventory.
Maintain strong supplier relationships and negotiate optimal pricing and terms.
Optimize procurement cycles to reduce lead times and inventory costs.

3.Export Documentation & Compliance

Ensure accurate and timely generation of all export documentation (invoice, packing list, BL, etc.).
Oversee IGST refund processes and ensure timely filing and claim follow-ups.
Ensure full compliance with customs, DGFT, GST, and international trade regulations.
Work closely with freight forwarders, CHA, and compliance teams to ensure smooth export operations.
Mitigate risks by staying updated on regulatory changes and implementing process adjustments as needed.

Leadership & Strategic Responsibilities:

Develop SOPs across operations functions to ensure consistency and quality.
Analyze operational KPIs and implement corrective actions where necessary.
Lead cross-functional coordination between Sales, warehouse, procurement, and documentation to ensure seamless order fulfillment.
Present monthly operational performance reports to senior management.
Drive digital and process automation initiatives wherever feasible.

Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Engineering; MBA preferred.
10+ years of experience in operations, with at least 3-5 years in a senior managerial role in the automotive parts industry.
Strong knowledge of export procedures, warehousing, and inventory management.
Familiarity with ERP systems and warehouse management systems (WMS).
Proven leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Operational and strategic thinking – make annual business plans and improvement plans
Strong analytical and decision-making skills – Skill of advance excel , take decisions with risk clculation
Team leadership and performance management –
