Nuvoco Vistas Corporation (Nuvoco) seeks a General Manager - Corporate Legal in Mumbai (Kurla) to lead litigation, contract governance and regulatory compliance. The role requires 15+ years post-qualification experience in the legal domain, with mandatory LL.B. and preferred LL.M. in a manufacturing setting.

The successful candidate will provide practical legal advice, manage external counsel, and work across procurement, operations and HR to mitigate risk and support strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Litigation management across India including writs, civil, commercial, arbitration, criminal, labour disputes and regulatory matters.
• Draft, vet, negotiate and finalize key commercial agreements and contracts (logistics, supply chain, channel, purchase orders, HR, etc.).
• Draft, review, and respond to regulatory notices and compliance matters.
• Provide business-oriented legal advice and risk management in collaboration with procurement, finance and operations.

Role - General Manager - Corporate Legal

Roles & Responsibilities-

1. Litigation Management

• Manage end-to-end litigation across India involving writs, civil disputes, commercial litigation, arbitration, criminal matters,labordisputes, and regulatory proceedings.
• Handle disputes relating to:
  • Commercial contracts
  • Vendor and supplier disputes
  • Logisticsand transportation matters
  • Channel partner and distributor disputes
  • HR and employment-related matters
  • Lease and license disputes
  • Land and property-related matters
  • Recovery and insolvency matters
  • Regulatory and statutory proceedings
• Coordinate with external counsels, senior advocates, and consultants for litigation strategy and representation before:
  • Supreme Court
  • High Courts
  • District Courts
  • NCLT / NCLAT
  • Arbitration Tribunals
  • Regulatory and quasi-judicial authorities
• Review andfinalizepleadings, replies, petitions, written submissions, notices, andlegalopinions.
• Ensure effective litigation tracking, risk mitigation, and closure strategies.

2. Contract Management

• Draft, vet, negotiate, andfinalizekey commercial agreements including:
  • Logisticscontracts
  • Transportation and supply chain agreements
  • Channel partner agreements
  • Dealer and distributor contracts
  • Purchase Orders
  • Procurement and vendor contracts
  • Service agreements
  • HR andmanpowercontracts
  • Land-related agreements and documentation
  • Lease and license agreements
  • Confidentiality agreements
  • Guarantees and indemnity documents
• Support contract governance and standardization across business verticals.
• Identifycontractual risks and provide commercially practicallegalsolutions.
• Ensure stronglegalprotection in business-critical transactions and operational contracts.

3. Regulatory Notices & Compliance Management

• Draft, review, andfinalizereplies to various notices, show-cause notices,legalnotices, and proceedingsinitiatedbyvariousauthorities.

4. Business Advisory & Risk Management

• Provide practical and business-orientedlegaladvice to management and operational teams.
• Identify legal, commercial, and regulatory risks and recommend preventive action.
• Support strategic projects involving plant operations, expansions, land matters, mining activities, and infrastructure development.
• Work closely with procurement, supply chain, sales, HR, finance, manufacturing, and mining teams.
• Assistin policy development andlegalgovernance initiatives.
