Job Profile Overview

• Role: Assistant Manager - Legal

Key Responsibilities

1. Litigation Management

• Handle Disputes: Manage civil, criminal, and commercial litigations, including recovery suits, consumer forum cases, and cheque-bouncing matters.
• Coordinate with Counsels: Brief external advocates, track case progress, and prepare briefs or counter-affidavits for cases in High Courts and lower courts.
• Land & Mining Matters: Assist senior legal teams in handling litigations related to land acquisition, mining leases, environmental clearances, and local regulatory disputes.
• MIS Tracking: Maintain and update Management Information System (MIS) reports on all ongoing and pending legal cases.

2. Contract Drafting & Vetting

• Commercial Agreements: Draft, review, and negotiate vendor contracts, purchase orders, supply agreements, transport contracts, and project execution contracts.
• Property & Lease Deeds: Handle lease deeds, leave and license agreements, sale deeds, and conveyance deeds for warehouses, plants, and offices.

3. Regulatory Compliance & Advisory

• Legal Opinions: Research case laws and provide internal legal advice to operations, procurement, and HR teams.
• Statutory Compliance: Monitor changes in laws related to manufacturing, labor, mining, and safety regulations applicable to the cement sector.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Core Skills: Strong drafting skills, litigation management, dispute resolution, and commercial contract negotiation.
• Industry Knowledge: Understanding of Contract Act Transfer of Property Act, Arbitration and Conciliation Act, Civil/Criminal Procedure Codes, and basic mining/labor laws.
• Soft Skills: Good communication, cross-functional coordination, and ability to work under pressure.
