Job summary

HSBC Software Development India is seeking an experienced Consultant Specialist to oversee Google Cloud Platform operations, focusing on GKE and GCE, with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines for resource provisioning and deployment.

You will lead incident resolution, implement permanent fixes, enforce ITIL practices, and work with engineering to reduce MTTR and enable self-healing automation, while managing IAM and monitoring tools. This role offers exposure to a global financial services environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with GKE cluster creation and workload deployments.
• GCE experience including MIGs and load balancer attachment.
• Knowledge of IAM roles and access provisioning.
• Terraform and CI/CD automation proficiency.
• Ability to learn new open-source tools on GCP.
• Experience with monitoring and ticketing tools (ServiceNow, Jira).

Responsibilities

• Oversee Google Cloud Platform (BQ, GKE, GCE, Pub/Sub, Dataflow) operations. Ensure high availability and performance of critical business applications.
• Provision GCP resources via Terraform in CI/CD pipelines.
• Deploy applications on GKE with service.yaml, ingress.yaml.
• Install open-source tools on GKE platform.
• Lead incident resolution, analyze recurring issues, implement permanent fixes, and drive proactive problem management. Enforce ITIL best practices for incident, problem, and change management
• Ensure continuous alert optimization and MTTR reduction
• Identify and implement automation solutions to reduce manual interventions. Work with engineering teams to integrate alert management and self-healing automation.
• Implement access control measures to prevent unauthorized system changes.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist

In this role, you will:

• Oversee Google Cloud Platform (BQ, GKE, GCE, Pub/Sub, Dataflow) operations. Ensure high availability and performance of critical business applications.
• Procure GCP resources like GCE, GKE, BQ datasets through Terraform using CI/CD pipelines
• Deploy applications on GKE by preparing service.yaml, ingress.yaml etc files
• Work on installing the Open-source tools on GKE platform.
• Lead incident resolution, analyze recurring issues, implement permanent fixes, and drive proactive problem management. Enforce ITIL best practices for incident, problem, and change management
• Ensure continuous alert optimization and MTTR reduction
• Identify and implement automation solutions to reduce manual interventions. Work with engineering teams to integrate alert management and self-healing automation.
• Implement access control measures to prevent unauthorized system changes.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

• Strong experience on GKE platform, create GKE cluster, pod services, GKE performance tuning, workload deployments, Ingress and Egress services on GKE.
• Experience in GCE, creating MIG and attaching load balancer to MIG
• Good knowledge of IAM Roles and access provisioning.
• Automation: Terraform, CI/CD pipeline
• Capability to learn new open-source tools and install, configure them on GCP platform.
• Monitoring & Ticketing Tools: ServiceNow, Jira
