Job summary

HSBC is seeking an experienced Consultant Specialist to join our team in India. The role focuses on tracking, monitoring and evidencing IT controls, across IT governance areas including KCIs and SDLC practices.

You will own metrics, dashboards, and reporting, and coordinate with risk and control leads for timely closure of actions. You will engage with group IT stakeholders, drive continuous improvement, and ensure audit-ready evidence quality.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in IT control compliance tracking and KPI reporting.
  • Ability to produce dashboards and manage evidence quality for audits.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication with senior IT and business teams.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity controls, SDLC, and change/deployment governance.

Responsibilities

  • Track, monitor, and evidence compliance for IT controls across multiple domains.
  • Own GRAS metrics, maintain dashboards, trackers, and reporting packs.
  • Drive action management; ensure owners understand requirements and timelines.
  • Represent the function in governance forums and drive favorable outcomes.
  • Engage with IAM, Risk leads, and service owners to align expectations and resolve items.
  • Track audit issues and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Share ITSO responsibilities for nominated Core Banking services and ensure service health.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist

In this role, you will:

  • Track, monitor, and evidence compliance for key IT controls and KCIs acrossIDAM, SDLC, Deployment (DEPL), Cyber, Operational Resilience, and other applicable Group control requirements for Core Banking Service Management.
  • Own and manageGRAS metricsfor the area, ensuring accurate status, clear ownership, and timely progression/closure of actions.Maintain high-qualitydashboards, trackers, and reporting packsthat provide transparent visibility of compliance status, risks, overdue actions, and upcoming deadlines for senior stakeholders.
  • Drive action management: ensure action owners understand requirements and evidence expectations, follow up regularly, remove blockers, andescalatewhere actions are at risk or overdue.
  • Represent the function incontrol governance forumsand KCI/control discussions; provide constructive feedback, challenge where needed, and drive favourable outcomes aligned to the Group control framework.
  • Engage regularly withGroup IAM, Risk & Control leads, control owners, CCO Tech, Risk Advocates, IT/Business Service Owners, and Service Quality Managers to align expectations and close outstanding items.Prepare and present compliance status, key risks, trends, and mitigation plans forCTO/CIO/SLRand other senior governance forums.
  • Track and ensure timely closure ofaudit issues/findings/actionsrelated to IT controls, ensuring evidence quality is audit-ready and traceable. Identify and delivercontinuous improvementopportunities (process improvements, playbooks, training/awareness sessions) to strengthen control performance and operational discipline.
  • ShareIT Service Owner (ITSO)responsibilities for nominated Core Banking services, supporting service governance and service health oversight (e.g., incidents/problems awareness, change risk, operational risk management, service reviews).
  • Ensure service documentation remains current and fit for purpose (e.g., service profiles, support models, key contacts, runbooks, DR artefacts) and that control requirements are embedded into service operations.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Proven experience inIT control compliance tracking, KCI/KPI reporting, and action management in a regulated environment.
  • Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills, with the ability toinfluence, challenge, and escalatappropriately to drive closure.
  • Working knowledge ofCybersecurity controls, SDLC, deployment/change controls, and Identity & Access Managementconcepts.
  • Experience producingdashboards and senior management reporting(e.g., Excel/Power BI or equivalent), with strong attention to detail and evidence quality.
  • Experience supportingIT Service Ownership / Service Managementactivities for critical services (service reviews, operational risk management, and service stability/resilience focus).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate effectively with senior IT and business stakeholders. Ability to work independently, take ownership, and drive global functional teams towards common objectives.
