Responsibilities

• Manage ad-hoc regulator data and reports with quality and timelines.
• Review bank/holding reconciliations and resolve breaks; conduct TB scrutiny.
• Monitor recurring fund expense sheets affecting TER.
• Collaborate with Registrars, Banking, Marketing, Product, Compliance, auditors, and service providers.
• Coordinate with fund managers and fund accountants for NAV declarations.
• Book expenses, facilitate audits through finalization of accounts, ensure NAV accuracy.
• Oversee audit/compliance requirements and MIS for FA-Custody Ops.
• Review regulator communications via RTA or fund administrators for dissemination.
• Drive transformation and continuous improvement; lead projects.
• Improve departmental processes and procedures for seamless operations.
• Handle additional projects as assigned by HOD.
• Monitor trade settlements maker-checker, cash balances, security master, front office data.

Job description

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

• 8-10 years of experience in Fund Accounting & Custody Operations within the Mutual Fund industry.
• Strong expertise in Mutual Fund Accounting, SEBI regulations, trade settlements, banking operations, and fund accounting systems.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.

JOB ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Managing ad-hoc data or report requirements from Regulator with strict adherence to quality standards and expected delivery timelines.
• Reviewing Bank and Holding reconciliations and resolving breaks, if any, and performing periodic Trial Balance scrutiny.
• Monitoring & reviewing Fund Recurring Expense sheet which will impact on overall TER.
• This position would also require the individual to work closely with the Registrars, Banking Team, Marketing, Product, Compliance team and externally with Auditors and service providers.
• Co-ordination with Fund managers, Fund Accountants, and timely NAV Declarations.
• The position would primarily be responsible for Booking Expenses, Facilitate Audits up to Finalization of Accounts, accuracy in NAV Calculation, and checking of Cash Components.
• Responsible for Audit, Compliance requirements, QRCs & MIS pertaining to FA-Custody Ops both internal as well as regulatory.
• Responsible for Checking of information to the Regulator received either through RTA or Fund Administrators which is disseminated both internally as well as regulatory.
• Responsible for driving transformation and continuous improvement or leading projects.
• Continuously review and improve departmental processes and procedures, in terms of seamlessness.
• Handle other projects as delegated by the HOD and perform related duties as assigned.
• From the other deliverable perspective, the role is required to monitor the functionality in terms of maker checker on the Trade Settlements, checking Cash Flow balances, monitoring of security master, and information updation in front office system.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Chartered Accountant with overall 8 to 10 years of work experience in the FA and Custody or a Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field with overall 3 years of work experience.
• Graduate/Post Graduate with overall 4 to 5 years of work experience.
• Operations more specifically with Mutual Fund perspective.
• Should have knowledge of the Mutual Fund Business and demonstrate ability to work effectively as a team.
• Should have latest knowledge on Regulatory guidelines.
• Knowledge of Indian Capital Markets, Different Security Segments on Equity and Fixed Income side, Background of Banking and Financial services industry.
• Scheme reconciliation and Knowledge of Fund accounting of Schemes.
• SEBI – Mutual Fund Accounting Standards & Reporting Requirements.
• SEBI guidelines for Mutual Fund Investment limits, Risk Management etc.
• Mutual Fund Books of Accounts of Schemes, Trade Settlements and Banking Operations.
• Should have updated knowledge on Regulatory guidelines and Industry Practices.
