Thrive Management Services in Mumbai seeks an Executive Fund Accounts to support day-to-day fund and investment accounting, reconciliations and MIS. You will coordinate with banks, custodians, auditors and tax consultants to ensure accurate financial records.

The role involves capital calls and distributions tracking, investor statements, and preparation of accounting schedules for statutory audits and compliance with AIF/SEBI norms.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor level qualification in commerce or CA Inter equivalent with accounting principles knowledge.
  • Strong MS Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software and fund accounting tools.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and ability to handle transaction-level data.
  • Ability to maintain schedules, trackers and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Record fund transactions including contributions, calls, investments, exits and distributions with proper documentation.
  • Track expenses, manager fees and bank charges and pass journal entries accordingly.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and MIS.
  • Perform bank and investment reconciliations and maintain investment records.
  • Coordinate with Investment Manager, Fund Administrator, Custodian and auditors for operations and reporting.
  • Assist in tax computations, SEBI / AIF regulatory support and compliance records.

Job description

1. Role Overview for Executive Fund Accounts

The candidate will support the day-to-day fund accounting, investment accounting, investor accounting, reconciliations, fund operations, MIS and audit/tax-related activities of a SEBI-registered Category II AIF. The role will coordinate with the Investment Manager, Fund Administrator, Custodian, Banks, Auditors, Tax Consultants and other service providers.

2. Key Responsibilities
A. Fund Accounting & Bookkeeping
  • Record capital contributions, capital calls, investments, follow-on investments, exits, distributions, expenses and other fund transactions.
  • Account for management fees, fund expenses, professional fees, bank charges and other operating expenses.
  • Pass accounting entries for investments, income, expenses, accruals, receivables and payables, with proper supporting documentation.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
B. Bank, Investment & Reconciliations
  • Perform bank and investment reconciliations with statements received from banks, custodians and fund administrators.
  • Maintain investment-wise records including cost, transaction details, portfolio company, holding and exit information.
  • Track and follow up on outstanding reconciliation items and differences.
C. Investor Accounting & Fund Operations
  • Maintain investor-wise capital contribution, capital call, outstanding commitment and distribution records.
  • Assist in preparation of capital call statements, investor capital statements and related investor communications.
  • Maintain trackers for key fund activities, cash flows, investment payments and operational timelines.
  • Coordinate with the Investment Manager, Fund Administrator / Registrar, Custodian and Banks for routine fund operations and documentation.
D. MIS & Management Reporting
  • Prepare periodic fund-level MIS covering capital called / uncalled capital, investment cost and valuation, fund expenses, investor contributions and distributions.
  • Support management and investor reporting with required data, schedules and analysis.
E. Audit, Tax & Regulatory Support
  • Prepare accounting schedules and supporting documents for statutory audit and coordinate with auditors on information requirements.
  • Assist tax consultants with tax computations, income-tax return workings and applicable AIF tax / investor reporting requirements.
  • Support TDS, GST and other applicable compliances and maintain related records.
  • Support applicable SEBI / AIF operational requirements from an accounting and documentation perspective.
3. Key Skills & Requirements
  • B.Com / CA Inter / equivalent qualification with good understanding of accounting principles, journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel; experience with Tally / accounting or fund accounting software preferred.
  • Good analytical and numerical skills with strong attention to detail and ability to handle transaction-level data accurately.
  • Ability to independently maintain schedules, trackers and follow up on pending items.
4. Preferred Knowledge / Experience
  • Exposure to AIF / Private Equity / Venture Capital / Mutual Fund / NBFC accounting or operations.
  • Basic understanding of AIF structure, capital calls, distributions, investor capital accounts and investment accounting.
  • Exposure to SEBI-regulated entities, TDS / GST / income-tax compliance and dealing with auditors / tax consultants.
  • Understanding of investment valuation concepts will be an advantage.
5. Candidate Profile
  • Detail-oriented, organised and comfortable handling accounting independently at the transaction level.
  • Comfortable working on Excel and preparing financial schedules and MIS.
  • Willing to take ownership of recurring accounting and fund operational activities.
  • Able to coordinate effectively with internal and external stakeholders and meet deadlines.
  • Interested in developing expertise in AIF / investment fund accounting and operations.
6. Key Performance Areas
  • Accuracy and timeliness of accounting and investor records.
  • Timely completion of bank / investment reconciliations and closure of outstanding items.
  • Timely and accurate preparation of MIS, audit and tax schedules.
  • Proper maintenance of fund documentation and operational records.
