Job summary

TVS Motor Company in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, seeks a Functional Group leader for EE Power System Architecture. The role leads EV/HEV powertrain architectures across 2W/3W/4W lines, owning architectural integrity and technology roadmap planning from Cell/BMS to motor output.

You will drive cross-functional design reviews, mentor the powertrain team, and collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to ensure producibility and performance goals are met.

Qualifications

• BTech/MTech in Electric or Electronics. Advanced Qualifications are an advantage.
• More than 12 years in automotive EV Powertrain and EE Components development.

• Define and maintain current and next-generation EV/HEV powertrain architectures from requirements to deployment.

Position description: The EV/HEV Powertrain Chief Engineer will help us move from individual architectures to platform-based, modular, scalable systems that meet world-class standards in technology, safety, cybersecurity, cost and performance.

The EV/HEV Powertrain Functional Group leader is the technical authority for EV and HEV powertrain architectures (that is, from Cell/BMS/Battery to Electric Motor output) and roadmap across our 2W and 3W/4W product lines. This role owns the architectural integrity of every vehicle we ship today and every vehicle we will ship in the next 10 years as well as the technology roadmap on EV and HEV powertrain technologies.

RoleDescription

Accountability: EV/HEVArchitecture ownership

• - Define and maintain current and next-generation EV and HEV powertrainarchitectures from requirements to functional, logical and physicaldeployment.
• - Drive modularity and scalability across platforms.
• - Lead architectural trade-off studies (performance / cost / weight /time-to-market / safety) with quantified decision..
• - Own the powertrain integration as a system. Ensure that all components of the powertrain blend perfectly together in order to deliver the required targetswith the highest quality standard.
• - Maintain a 5-year product architecture roadmap and contribute to a 10-yeartechnology roadmap.

Accountability: EV/HEVPowertrain System specification

• - Own the cascade of requirements from vehicle level to subsystem level(Battery Subsystem / eDrive Subsystem / Charging Subsystem) and componentlevel (M-CTR / DC/DC / MCU / BMS) with a platform approach.
• - Approve subsystem and component requirement specifications before release tocomponent teams.
• - Drive interface definition (electrical, mechanical, software, diagnostic)between subsystems and components.
• - Establish and maintain system-level design guidelines (HV safety, EMC,grounding strategy, derating, thermal, mechanical).

Accountability: Technicalleadership

• - Lead design reviews at every program gate for all powertrain components.
• - Arbitrate cross-component technical trade-offs based on system and projectneeds.
• - Mentor and grow the powertrain team: build technical depth in the acrossbattery, eDrive, powertrain controls, system engineering, integration andembedded systems.
• - Establish a documentation discipline across decisions, requirements andvalidation activities.

Accountability: Technologyand Innovation

• - Identify and evaluate technology trends (cell chemistries, EV topologies,voltage migrations, ECUs integration, SDVs, ARAS..).
• - Sponsor proof-of-concept projects with internal teams and academic/start-uppartners.
• - Generate IP from architectural innovation.

Accountability: Cross-Functional Interface

• - Collaborate with E/E System integration team to D&D on vehicle-levelE/E architecture.
• - Collaborate with component teams (Battery, motor, MCU, VCU, BMS, OBC,DC-DC, Power distribution) on requirements and design reviews.
• - Partner with manufacturing, quality, and supplier management on producibility,field issues and supplier technical evaluation.

Accountability: FuSa andCybersecurity

• - Own the EV/HEV Powertrain architectural input to ISO 26262 work products(Item Definition, HARA, FSC, TSC, ASIL allocation) jointly with the FuSaLead.
• - Own the EV/HEV Powertrain architectural input to ISO 21434 work products(Item Definition, TARA, Cybersecurity goals, Cybersecurity Concept) jointlywith the CyberSecurity Lead.
• - Ensure architectural decisions are consistent with safety and cybersecuritygoals.
