We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer who can take end-to-end ownership of features across backend systems and frontend applications (web and mobile). You will work closely with product managers, architects, and cross-functional teams to design, build, and scale high-performance distributed systems and user-centric applications. This role demands strong backend depth, solid frontend expertise, and the ability to handle production-scale challenges across the stack.
The candidate will have responsibilities across the following functions:
Full Stack Ownership:
- Own features end-to-end: design, development, testing, deployment, production support.
- Translate business requirements into scalable backend and frontend solutions.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend/frontend engineers.
Backend Development:
- Design and build RESTful APIs and event-driven microservices.
- Work on distributed systems and messaging (Kafka or similar).
- Optimise backend performance (CPU, memory, DB queries, GC behaviour).
- Handle production issues and perform root cause analysis.
Frontend Development (Web and Mobile):
- Build scalable UI applications using React (Web) and React Native (Mobile).
- Develop responsive web apps and cross-platform mobile applications.
- Create reusable, maintainable UI components and design systems.
- Ensure cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility.
Performance and Optimisation:
- Backend (query performance, indexing, memory usage).
- Frontend (render cycles, bundle size, API efficiency).
- Monitor system performance and user interaction metrics.
Architecture and Collaboration:
- Contribute to system architecture and frontend design decisions.
- Work with distributed systems and ensure scalability and reliability.
- Drive engineering best practices, code reviews, and quality standards.
Technical Expectations:
Backend and Frameworks:
- Core Java (JDK 17+).
- Spring Boot (latest versions).
- Deep understanding of JPA/Hibernate internals.
- Design patterns and clean architecture principles.
Distributed Systems:
- Apache Kafka (preferred) or similar pub-sub systems.
- Event-driven architecture.
- Concepts: idempotency, retries, and eventual consistency.
Databases and Performance:
- Strong RDBMS expertise (MySQL / PostgreSQL).
- Query optimisation, indexing strategies.
- Performance tuning and memory management.
Frontend (Web and Mobile):
Core Technologies:
- JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.
- HTML5 CSS3 (Flexbox, Grid, responsive design).
- REST API integration.
React (Web):
- React.js (latest versions).
- State management (Redux, Zustand, Context API).
- Code splitting, lazy loading.
React Native (Mobile):
- Building and deploying apps for iOS and Android.
- Native modules and bridging concepts.
- Mobile performance optimisation.
Observability and Reliability:
- Logging, monitoring, and distributed tracing.
- Handling real-time production incidents.
- Performance monitoring tools.
DevOps and Cloud:
- CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or similar).
- Maven, Git.
- Experience with Azure or Google Cloud Platform (preferred).
