Job summary

Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India Private Limited in Pune invites a senior design engineer to lead the energy, fuel, brake and hydraulic lines design and development for global programs. You will release documentation in PLM and coordinate with cross‑functional teams.

The role requires 10–15 years in automotive energy systems, strong NX/PLM skills, and the ability to work independently with suppliers. Travel may be required; you will operate in a multicultural, global environment.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of automotive energy system experience (fuel/brake/hydraulic lines).
• Experience with design for passenger cars.
• Knowledge of joining, quick connectors, end forms.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of energy (fuel), brake and hydraulic lines.
• Release and documentation of hydraulic lines in PLM per project cycle.
• Report and participate in project meetings to meet milestones and escalations.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely development.

Description

Requirement:

• Min 10- 15 years of experience in Automotive Energy system (Fuel), Brake and Hydraulic Lines design and development for Passenger Cars. Additional knowledge of Engine and Battery Cooling lines would be an advantage
• Proficient in Hydraulic Lines Concept development considering Package, Manufacturing, Tooling, Assembly, Material and Coatings, Torque, Tolerance, Testing & Global Certification requirements
• Knowledge of upcoming technological development in the field of Joining, Quick Connectors, End Forms for Leak proof methodologies
• Experience of working with Tubes and Piping, Sheet Metal and Plastic Parts design
• Should have worked on at least one concept development program for responsible engineers.
• Able to work independently with minimum support to handle Global programs from India
• Hands-on experience of working and steering suppliers to ensure timely development as per the project milestones
• Min 1 years’ experience in Siemens NX Part Design, Surface Design, Drawings, Product Life Cycle tools & GD & T. Awareness of automation tools would be an added advantage.
• Knowledge in documentation & release management process using a PDM / Smaragd
• Open to travel outside of India on short notice
• Working experience with International Projects & multicultural environment would be desirable
