Job summary

Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India Private Limited in Pune, India seeks a design-focused engineer to manage HVAC hose development and lifecycle management for cooling and heating lines. The role involves cross-functional coordination with Design, Simulation, Homologation, and Suppliers, ensuring quality, cost and schedule targets.

Responsibilities include coordinating test scopes and FMEA, handling field issues, and overseeing the Engineering Change Management process while traveling

Qualifications

• English communication skills are required.
• German proficiency is preferred.
• Several years of experience in vehicle development, especially hose routing and functional parts.
• Familiarity with Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
• Experience with Mercedes-Benz Development System (MDS).
• Experience dealing with suppliers and development partners in HVAC development.

Responsibilities

• Manage new product development of HVAC hoses to meet targets for quality, maturity, timeline, cost and weight.
• Handle field issues.
• Coordinate with Packaging, Design, Simulation, Homologation, Sensor/Camera/Antenna and other cross-functional teams.
• Own test scopes, FMEA and sample parts and document projects.
• Steer multiple suppliers worldwide and drive the product/project management control plan.
• Support integration of Quality Management measures and approval processes for components.
• Create RFQ and component specifications; evaluate offers with Purchasing.
• Manage Engineering Change Management processes and portal/documentation.
• Ensure alignment with customer needs and legal/special project requirements.
• Willingness to travel worldwide to meet hardware and vehicle build milestones.

Description

• 1) Manage new product development activities of HVAC hoses to meet quality, maturity, timeline, cost & weight targets, work on life cycle management for cooling and heating lines.
• 2) Handling field issues
• 3) Co-coordinating with Packaging, Design, Simulation, Homologation, Sensor/Camera/Antenna departments and Other Cross functional Teams.
• 4) Coordination and ownership of test scopes, FMEA and sample parts as well as documentation of the respective project
• 5) Steering Multiple Suppliers across the globe & drive the Product/Project management control plan
• 6) Support for Integrating Quality Management measures and approval process of the components
• 7) Creating RFQ and component requirement specifications and technical documents for determining costs and evaluating offers in cooperation with Purchasing
• 8) Manages the Engineering Change Management process & documents in the relevant portal/folders

9) Managing customer needs & ensuring the Legal and special project requirements

10) Willingness to travel worldwide to meet Hardware and Vehicle Build Milestones

Skills

• 1) Well worse with English in Communication.
• 2) German Proficiency preferred.
• 3) Several years of experience in vehicle development, particularly in the area of hose routing, assembly, functional parts and seals
• 4) Sound knowledge of Siemens NX ,Team Centre
• 5) Experience in the MDS (Mercedes Benz Development System) process preferred
• 6) Experience in dealing with suppliers and development partners in the field of HVAC development
