Job summary

You will own the frontend layer from architecture to deployment, collaborate with backend, product, and deployment teams, and push high-performance dashboards and geospatial UIs using React, TypeScript, and Tailwind, while refining design systems and state management for offline

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–6 years of frontend engineering experience with shipped products.
• Strong expertise in React, TypeScript, and Tailwind.

Sarvam is building the bedrock of Sovereign AI for India, developing a full-stack platform across research, models, infrastructure, and applications. We are looking for a skilled Frontend Engineer to join our Chanakya team. These are not standard form-and-table roles; you will build interfaces for AI-driven strategic and enterprise use cases, operating in demanding, offline-first, and low-bandwidth environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and build high-performance, production-grade frontend interfaces including geospatial overlays, simulation UIs, and complex enterprise data dashboards.
• Own the frontend layer of product 'atoms' from initial component architecture to final deployment in client-embedded environments.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with backend engineers, product managers, and deployment teams to ship functional, scoped solutions.
• Develop for constrained hardware and network environments, ensuring robust performance in offline-first or low-bandwidth scenarios.
• Contribute to core frontend infrastructure, including the refinement of component libraries, design systems, and state management patterns.
• Participate in active field testing and integrate client feedback to iterate on strategic AI-driven product features.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of professional experience in frontend engineering with a portfolio of shipped, production-grade products.
• Deep expertise in React, TypeScript, and modern CSS frameworks like Tailwind.
• Strong proficiency in state management patterns (e.g., Zustand, Redux Toolkit) and complex asynchronous data flows.
• Proven experience with data visualisation libraries such as D3.js, Mapbox, Deck.gl, or Recharts in a production setting.
• Solid understanding of REST and WebSocket API integrations with the ability to debug across the backend-frontend boundary.
• Advanced performance engineering skills, specifically regarding bundle optimisation, lazy loading, and rendering in low-resource environments.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical industry experience.
