Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Frontend Developer with 5+ years of experience and strong expertise in React and frontend architecture. In this role you will build a new product from the ground up — owning the architecture, tooling, and foundational engineering decisions with no legacy codebase to lean on. The ideal candidate is capable of solving complex UI, performance, security, and architecture problems, making technical decisions independently, and building scalable, maintainable production applications. Backend knowledge is expected, but the role is primarily frontend-focused.

Key Responsibilities

• Build a production application from scratch: set up the project, tooling, CI/CD hygiene, and foundational architecture decisions from day one.
• Build scalable, maintainable, and high-performance React applications.
• Define frontend architecture including component structure, state management, data flow, routing, API integration, and module boundaries.
• Design and build a reusable component library / design system, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and reuse across the application.
• Own authentication and authorization flows, including login, session/token handling, and role-based access control across different user types.
• Ensure application security: input validation, XSS/CSRF protection, secure token storage, and safe handling of sensitive data on the client.
• Build responsive, adaptive UIs that work across desktop, tablet, and handheld/mobile form factors.
• Have a deep understanding of React rendering, reconciliation, memoization, virtualization, lazy loading, and code-splitting.
• Diagnose and resolve memory leaks, UI jank, slow rendering, and performance regressions using Chrome DevTools, React Profiler, Lighthouse, and bundle analysis tools.
• Build performant data-dense interfaces — large tables, grids, filtering, and real-time state updates.
• Make informed state architecture decisions across local state, Context, Redux/Redux Toolkit, or other state-management approaches.
• Own and optimize the frontend build pipeline using Vite/Webpack, including tree-shaking, lazy loading, code-splitting, and bundle optimization.
• Evaluate CSR vs SSR vs SSG based on performance, scalability, and SEO requirements.
• Design and maintain frontend coding standards, linting, formatting, and architecture guidelines.
• Work with REST APIs, WebSockets, authentication/authorization, and real-time application requirements.
• Have a solid understanding of backend architecture, Node.js, databases, API design, and basic system design.
• Write maintainable, testable code and actively participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
• Mentor developers and contribute to improving overall code quality and engineering practices.
• Take an AI-first approach to engineering: default to using AI tools across the development lifecycle — from design and coding to review, testing, and debugging — to work faster and at higher quality.
• Be hands-on with modern AI development tools such as Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, and similar, using them fluently as part of daily workflow.
• Build custom AI skills and agents to automate repetitive engineering tasks and accelerate team workflows.
• Critically review, validate, debug, and refine AI-generated code, ensuring correctness, security, performance, architecture, and maintainability before production use.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of frontend engineering experience, with a track record of solving deep, non-trivial UI, performance, and architecture problems — not just feature delivery.
• Proven experience building applications from scratch and making foundational architecture and tooling decisions independently.
• Strong understanding of frontend architecture and design patterns.
• Strong experience with Redux/Redux Toolkit or equivalent state-management solutions.
• Solid grasp of web security fundamentals: authentication/authorization, RBAC, XSS/CSRF, and secure client-side data handling.
• Strong experience with Vite/Webpack and frontend build optimization.
• Strong API integration and debugging skills.
• Working knowledge of backend architecture and system design.
• Proven experience taking complex or loosely defined frontend problems and independently defining the technical approach and solution.
• History of driving measurable improvements in load time, Core Web Vitals, rendering performance, or bundle size.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, communication, and ownership skills.
• Strong experience with AI-assisted software development, including the ability to critically evaluate and improve AI-generated code.
• Demonstrated AI-first mindset with hands-on, daily use of AI development tools.
• Hands-on experience building AI skills and agents to automate engineering workflows.
