Job summary

Vortecon is seeking a highly motivated operator to work directly with the founder on strategy, operations, partnerships, and high-leverage projects that shape how the firm scales. This is a fast-track into general management with ownership from idea to execution, sitting in partner meetings and drafting strategic documents.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in consulting, investment banking, founder's office, VC, startup ops, or a top-tier strategy role.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication.
• Structured thinking and strong first-principles problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Act as a thought partner to the founder on strategy, hiring, and key decisions.
• Drive zero-to-one projects from concept to launch — research, plan, execute, review.
• Prepare briefings, memos, and decks for internal and client meetings.
• Run weekly operating reviews and track progress on firm-wide priorities.
• Manage relationships with select clients, partners, and vendors.
• Lead recruiting, onboarding, and culture initiatives as the team grows.
• Build internal systems, dashboards, and SOPs to scale the firm.
• Represent the founder in select meetings and follow through on commitments.

Work shoulder-to-shoulder with the founder on strategy, operations, partnerships, and high-leverage projects that shape how Vortecon scales.

About the role

The Founder's Office is the operating nerve centre of Vortecon. You will work directly with the founder on the highest-leverage problems across the firm — strategy, client engagements, partnerships, hiring, internal operations, and new initiatives.This role is a fast-track into general management. You will not specialise in one function; you will be expected to think clearly, write sharply, move quickly, and own outcomes from idea to execution. You will sit in on partner meetings, draft strategy documents, run internal reviews, and lead zero-to-one projects.This role is for ambitious operators who want to learn how a firm is actually built — not by reading about it, but by doing the work alongside the person building it. It is not for you if you need a defined role, predictable hours, or constant direction.

What you'll do
