Job summary

Prodapt in Chennai is seeking an experienced Fortinet Build, Test & Integration Engineer to support enterprise clients, delivering secure Fortinet-based network services through onboarding, solution build, testing, and integration.

The role covers MACDs, upgrades, migrations, and ensuring all activities comply with ITIL processes and client standards, including FortiGate administration, VPNs, and high-availability configurations.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of hands-on experience implementing and supporting Fortinet security solutions.
• Strong experience in customer onboarding, BTI, and production deployments.
• Good knowledge of FortiGate administration, policy management, NAT/PAT, IPsec & SSL VPN, routing, VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HA.
• Experience in ITIL-based incident, change, problem, and configuration management environments.
• Excellent communication skills for customer-facing managed services environments.

Responsibilities

• Build, configure, and deploy Fortinet security solutions for enterprise environments.
• Perform customer onboarding including firewall provisioning, NAT/PAT, VPN, routing, and policy configuration.
• Execute BTI activities for new services, upgrades, and migrations.
• Handle MACDs and service changes with minimal disruption.
• Validate solutions through functional, integration, failover, and UAT testing prior to production.
• Troubleshoot configuration and connectivity across client networks and managed infra.
• Prepare implementation plans, test evidence, documentation, rollback plans, and as-built docs.
• Collaborate with client teams to deliver successful implementations and ensure ITIL compliance.

Overview

Prodapt is seeking an experienced Fortinet Build, Test & Integration Engineer to support the client account, delivering secure and reliable Fortinet-based network services for enterprise customers. The role is responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of customer onboarding, solution build, testing, integration, and operational changes, ensuring services are delivered in accordance with client's engineering standards, customer requirements, and operational processes.

Responsibilities

• Build, configure, and deploy Fortinet security solutions, primarily FortiGate, for enterprise customer environments.
• Perform customer onboarding activities, including firewall provisioning, policy implementation, NAT/PAT, VPN, routing, and security profile configuration.
• Execute Build, Test & Integration (BTI) activities for new customer services, upgrades, and network migrations.
• Perform customer Moves, Adds, Changes and Deletes (MACDs), reconfigurations, and service modifications while ensuring minimal service disruption.
• Validate solutions through functional, integration, failover, and user acceptance testing prior to production deployment.
• Troubleshoot configuration, connectivity, and integration issues across customer networks and client‑managed infrastructure.
• Prepare and maintain implementation plans, test evidence, configuration documentation, rollback plans, and as‑built documentation.
• Work closely with client engineering, service delivery, operations, project management, and customer teams to deliver successful implementations.
• Ensure all activities comply with client operational standards, ITIL processes, security policies, and change management procedures.

Requirements

• 3-7 years of hands‑on experience implementing and supporting Fortinet security solutions.
• Strong practical experience in customer onboarding, Build, Test & Integration (BTI), and production deployments.
• Good knowledge of:
• FortiGate Firewall administration
• Firewall policy management
• NAT/PAT
• IPsec & SSL VPN
• Routing (Static, OSPF, BGP)
• VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
• High Availability (HA)
• Network security best practices
• Experience managing customer change requests, configuration management, and service lifecycle activities.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to diagnose complex network and security issues.
• Experience working within ITIL-based Incident, Change, Problem, and Configuration Management environments.
• Excellent communication skills with experience working in customer‑facing managed service or telecommunications environments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, SD‑WAN, and Fortinet security fabric solutions.
• Exposure to Azure, AWS, or hybrid cloud connectivity.
• Automation experience using Python, REST APIs, or Ansible is desirable.
• Experience working in large telecom or managed services environments, preferably supporting client or similar Tier 1 operators.

Preferred Certifications

• Fortinet Certified Associate (FCA) / Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP) or equivalent (formerly NSE 4/5).
• ITIL Foundation Certification.
• CCNA or CCNP Security (desirable).
