Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead Design & Engineering activities for forging and manufacturing projects.
- Develop forging process designs, die designs, and tooling solutions.
- Ensure optimum metal flow, defect prevention, and First Time Right (FTR) during sample production.
- Select suitable machines and equipment for New Product Development (NPD).
- Perform engineering simulations using AutoCAD, UG NX, Forge NX, and Simufact.
- Optimize die life, material utilization, forging loads, and production efficiency.
- Manage end-to-end NPD activities from customer drawings to production approval.
- Ensure compliance with APQP, PPAP, IATF, and ISO standards.
- Lead engineering trials and implement process improvements.
- Prepare engineering drawings, SOPs, control plans, and technical documentation.
- Mentor and develop Design & Process Engineering teams.
- Coordinate with Production, Tool Room, Quality, and Maintenance teams to resolve technical issues.
- Drive innovation, productivity improvement, and engineering excellence across manufacturing operations.
Preferred Profile
- Strong experience in Forging Design & Manufacturing.
- Expertise in Die Design, Process Engineering, and Simulation Software.
- Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.
- Hands-on experience in APQP, PPAP, and GD&T.
- Manufacturing experience in Railway or Heavy Engineering products is an added advantage.
